Oil drain valve
Closed
and locked
position
Yellow cap
3. Unlock drain valve by slightly pushing inward
and turning counterclockwise.
4. To open, pull out on the drain valve.
5. After oil has drained completely, close and
lock the drain valve by pushing inward and
turning clockwise until the pin is in the locked
position as shown.
6. Remove the drain tube and replace the cap
onto the drain valve.
7. Refill tank with oil through oil fill dipstick
tube. Do not overfill. For approximate
capacity see the "Product specifications"
section of this manual.
8. Use oil fill dipstick for checking level. For
precise reading, thread tank cap onto the
tube before removing the dipstick. Keep oil
at "FULL" line on dipstick. Firmly thread cap
onto tube when finished.
Engine oil filter
Replace the engine oil filter every season or every
oil change if the tractor is used more than 100
hours in one year.
Air filter
Your engine will not run properly using a dirty
air filter. Clean more often when working in very
dusty places. See Engine Manual.
Cleaning air screen
Air screen must be kept free of dirt and chaff to
prevent engine damage from overheating. Clean
with a wire brush or compressed air to remove dirt
and stubborn dried gum fibers.
Cleaning vent holes and cooling fins
Always keep grass screen, cooling fins and other
engine external surfaces clean to ensure adequate
cooling. At every 100 hours of operation (or more
often when operating in dirty or dusty conditions),
remove blower housing and other cooling covers.
Clean cooling fins and external surfaces as
Drain tube
needed.
Reinstall cooling covers.
Note:
Tractor operation with blocked grass
screen, dirty cooling fins and/or removed
cooling covers will damage the engine from
overheating.
Muffler
Inspect and replace corroded muffler and spark
arrester (if equipped) as it could create a fire
hazard and/or damage.
Spark plugs
Replace spark plugs at the beginning of each
mowing season or after every 100 hours of
operation (whichever occurs first.) Spark plug
type and gap setting are shown in the "Product
specifications" section of this manual.
Fuel filter
The fuel filter should be replaced once each
season. If it becomes clogged, obstructing fuel
flow to carburetor, replacement is required.
1.
With engine cool, remove filter and plug fuel
line sections.
2. Place new filter in position in fuel line with
arrow pointing towards carburetor.
3. Be sure there are no fuel line leaks and
clamps are properly positioned.
4. Immediately wipe up any spilled gasoline.
