IMPORTANT
4 This appliance is not intended for use by
persons (including children) with reduced
physical sensory or mental capabilities, or
lack of experience and knowledge, unless
they have been given supervision or
instruction concerning use of the appliance
by a person responsible for their safety.
Children should be supervised to ensure
that they do not play with the appliance.
IMPORTANT
4 Read these instructions carefully before using the
appliance for the first time.
4 Before connecting the kettle, check that the
voltage indicated on the appliance (underside
of base) corresponds to the mains voltage in
your home. If this is not the case, contact
your dealer and do not use the kettle.
4 If the mains cord of this appliance is damaged, it
must only be replaced by an authorised service
agent, as special tools and/or parts are required.
4 The kettle will switch off automatically when
the water has boiled. You can switch the kettle
off before boiling by manually using the on/off
switch.
4 After the kettle has switched off automatically
(or has been switched off manually)
it will need some time to cool down. After
15-20 secs, the kettle can be switched on again.
4 The kettle is protected against damage, due to
operation with insufficient water, by means
of a safety cut-out. This cuts off the power when
the heating element gets too hot.
4 If the kettle ever runs dry while operating, allow
to cool down for 15 minutes before refilling
with cold water. The safety cut-out will
automatically reset.
LOCKING LID
The Lid can be locked and unlocked by activating the locking system on the lid.
Always make sure that the lid is locked in place when using the kettle.

4 Place the appliance on a stable flat surface.
Ensure that the kettle cannot fall into water.
4 Never immerse the kettle in water.
Do not allow water to penetrate the electrical
parts inside the kettle.
4 Prevent children from pulling the mains cord or
knocking the kettle over.
4 Before cleaning the kettle make sure the kettle
is disconnected from the power supply and has
fully cooled down.
4 The kettle may be cleaned with a damp cloth.
4 Pour away the very first water boiled from this
kettle. The appliance is then ready for use.
4 Only use the base unit supplied with this
product, if a replacement is required only
approved components must be used.
4 The outside surface of the kettle may get hot
during use. Please take care when using the
kettle.
4 Position the lid so that steam is directed away
from the handle.
4 Do not remove the lid while the water is boiling.
HOW TO USE THE KETTLE
Filling
4 The kettle is only to be used with the stand provided.
4 Remove kettle from the base before filling.
4 To fill the kettle, activate the locking system to the unlock position and lift off to expose the
filling port, fill to the desired level. Replace and lock the lid before using the kettle.
4 Do not fill with less than 0.5 litres of water. This is to prevent the kettle from running dry.
4 Do not fill with more than 1.7 litres of water.
The reason for this is so the water does not spurt out during the boiling process.
WARNING -if the kettle is overfilled, boiling water may be ejected.
SWITCHING ON
4 Plug the power supply cord from the base unit
into the mains supply socket.
4 To switch ON the appliance, press the top of the
ON/OFF switch. The indicator light in the switch
lights up when the unit is switched on.
CLEANING
4 First read the instructions in the section entitled "IMPORTANT".
4 To remove troublesome stains use a mild soap or detergent.
4 Rinse under running water to clear any impurities.
4 Avoid using abrasive cleaning agents.
Cleaning the filter
4 The filter is located inside the spout.
4 Empty the kettle and allow to cool.
4 Reach inside the kettle and twist the filter so that the clips on the filter line up with the holes inside
the spout.
4 Rinse the filter under warm water and brush off any impurities.
4 Refitting is the reverse of removal.
CAUTION -the appliance must not be immersed in water for cleaning.
DESCALING
For optimum usage descale the kettle at least twice a year and more often if necessary. To do this, follow the
procedure below. To clean the inside of your kettle. Either use a plastic jug kettle de-scaling solution – available
in most supermarkets, household suppliers. Or half fill the kettle with tap water. Add 300ml of white vinegar
to the water. Boil this mixture and allow it to stand for 30 seconds. Reboil the mixture and allow it to stand for
a further 30 seconds. Reboil this mixture a third time then rinse the kettle well. This procedure may need to be
repeated in extreme cases. Abrasive cleaners must not be used as these will damage the finish.
SWITCHING OFF
4 When the water has boiled the kettle will
automatically switch itself off.
4 You can stop the boiling process at any time by
pressing the ON/OFF switch to OFF.
4 When the boiler is off the indicator light is OFF
