DESCRIPTION
VIKING YouSafe™ Pro PV9341 A 180 Newton, PV9341 B 275
Newton Symmetric and PV9341 C 275 Newton Asymmetric are
automatically inflatable lifejackets.
All lifejackets are in conformity with the provision of the
Marine Equipment Directive (MED) 2014/90/EU and the LSA
code (International Life Saving Appliance Code), Resolutions
MSC.48(66) and MSC.81(70).
The lifejackets are further in conformity with Regulation (EU)
2016/425 of the European Parliament and of the Council,
EN ISO 12402-3 (180N) and EN 12402-2 (275N). The version
with deck safety harness is further in conformity with the
requirement of EN ISO 12401.
The lifejackets are type approved by NB0200, FORCE
Certification A/S, Park Allé 345, Brøndby, Denmark.
VIKING PV9341 lifejacket has a double compartment buoyancy
chamber which fully inflated provides buoyancy of 180 or 275
Newton (N). The lifejacket is intended for persons weighing
from 43 kg up to more than 100 kg, and with 60-175 cm chest
measure. Production date as well as serial no. are placed on the
ID label on the buoyancy chamber.
The VIKING YouSafe™ Pro lifejackets are available with either
automatic Halkey Roberts or Hammar inflators. Please check
which type of inflator your lifejacket is equipped with. 180 N
lifejackets use a 38 g CO
cylinder. 275 N lifejacket use a 60 g

TRAINING BEFORE USE
Make yourself familiar with the functioning of the lifejacket
and test it in a swimming pool or in other safe conditions
before use. Wear your normal clothes when training. After
testing, the buoyancy must be emptied thoroughly of air.
Re-arm and repack lifejacket according to instructions in
section 4.4 or 4.5 depending on inflation system and 4.3.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE
1. Put on the lifejacket as a jacket.
2. Close the front buckle.
3. Adjust the waist strap.
4. Fasten the crutch strap buckle and adjust the crutch strap.
5. The lifejacket is automatically inflated when immersed
into water but can also be manually inflated by a strong
pull of the release handle.
Inflation of VIKING PV9341 may be effected in three ways:
a: Automatic inflation:
The buoyancy chamber inflates within approx. 5 seconds after
immersion into the water.
b: Manual inflation:
The lifejacket inflates on a strong pull of the release handle at
the right side of the lifejacket. In case this chamber does not
work, the second chamber may be activated by a strong pull of
the release handle placed at the left side of the lifejacket.

c: Oral inflation:
Open the protective cover and blow air into one of the oral
inflation tubes.
WARNING: Although it has been tested to stand excess
pressure, do not ever inflate the lifejacket by mouth prior to
automatic or manual inflation.

MAINTENANCE
Maintenance of your lifejacket as well as initial testing is
essential for your safety in case of an accident.
The lifejacket must be handed in for annual service at a VIKING
authorized servicing station. Find your nearest servicing station
on www.viking-life.com.

CHECKING BEFORE USE
Lifejacket with Halkey Roberts inflator
1. Check that the lifejacket is undamaged. You may inflate
the lifejacket by mouth. Then repack it as described in
Packing (4.3). Avoid activating the inflator.
Open the protective cover and check the inflators (see
sketch):
a: The indicator must be green, and the lock pin must be

Lifejacket with Hammar inflator
1. Open the protective cover in both sides and check the
release mechanisms.
Note: The inflator does not function if:
• The release line and handle are missing.
• There is air in the buoyancy chamber
• Expiry date is overdue.
• The indicator on the yellow hydrostatic inflator is red.
2. The 180 N lifejacket is be equipped with 38 g CO
and the 275 N lifejacket is to be equipped with 60 g CO
cylinder.
3. Check oral inflation valve and tube.
4. Check light and whistle.
5. Check straps and buckles.
6. Close the protective cover.
The hydrostatic inflator can only be opened using a special
opener enclosed in a spare parts set.
IMPORTANT: If the lifejacket is not intact, do not use
it. Make sure that the release line and handle is free-
hanging and visible outside the protective cover.
