6. Once dry, moisten it with 2 drops of oil (if you wet
the filter with too much oil, the machine will not be
able to start).
7. Install the filter in the machine

Note: The motor should never work without the air

8.2. PERIODICAL MAINTENANCE
8.2.1. CHANGING THE MOTOR OIL
Perform the oil change operation only with the
operation still hot engine.
WARNING! You must not throw old oil into
the pipeline network or into the Earth. The
pollution of groundwater is subject to
heavy penalties.
There are special collection places in service stations.
If not, any municipal authority will give you the
relevant information.
Note: you have two procedures to empty the engine
oil. You can drain the oil by unscrewing the drain
screw located at the base of the fill-channel or
you can use the Garland engine oil cleaner (ref:
7199000020, not included with the machine
which can be found at your nearest Garland dealer)
and suck the oil tube filling machine. For ease of
implementation, cleaning and safety we recommend
that you picking up the oil.
To change the oil:
- Place the machine on a flat, horizontal and
uncluttered surface.
- Empty the engine oil.
- If it sucks in the used oil, remove the engine
oil filler cap and vacuum engine oil fill tube
by introducing oil Garland vacuum tube (ref:
7199000020, not included with the machine) to
the bottom.
- If you choose to empty the drain plug please note
travel which will cause oil to fall on the mower
chassis to place a large container containing all oil
before falling to the ground. We recommend that
you put a big plastic covering in the area which is
to carry out oil so that oil does not fall on the
ground where the route of the oil is not expected.
Once prepared the work area, remove the oil drain
CAP and slightly tilt the mower that the oil comes
out and fall into the container.
- Place in the oil drain plug.
- Unscrew the oil filler cap.
- Insert the oil fill hose 1,1l.
- Wait 1 minute for the oil to go down completely to
the motor case.
- Clean the dipstick from the oil with a cloth cap.
- Insert the rod and screw the cap of the oil.
- Unscrew the plug again and check the mark left
by oil on the dipstick. The mark left by the oil must
be between the minimum and maximum marks.
- If the mark is below the minimum add a little more
oil and recheck.
- If the mark is above the maximum you will have
to remove oil from the crankcase. This tilt the
mower on side, so that the air filter is facing up,
and let out a little oil (put a container at the end
of the tube to prevent oil spilling from the machine
or floor).
