arch both forward and backward to simulate and support nat-
ural movement. These movements prevent the direct transmis-
sion of forces to the edge of the protector. This SCOTT product
does not safeguard against traumas caused by twisting, torsion
or extreme movements.
B. LEVEL OF PROTECTION
These SCOTT products have been designed within some of the
requirements of the European safety standard EN 1621-2 : 2014
"Motocyclist's protective clothing against mechanical impact - Part
2  : Motorcyclists' back protector - Requirements and tests method"
and adapted accordingly by the notified body TÜV SÜD in the test
method to the requirements for backpacks for cycling, skiing and
snowboarding. The back protectors have been examined and tested
according to EN 1621-2  :   2 014 and have been classified as type FB (=
Full Back), level 1 (Please ref. to points
&
chapter IV).
Level 2 protectors have a higher protective effect in comparison
with Level 1 protectors. The wearer is responsible for selecting the
appropriate level of protection according to his or her needs, expe-
rience, skill and the potential risk of accident.
C. PERFORMANCE RECORDED
In addition to the standard conditioning provided by the norm,
our protectors have been subjected to temperature conditioning
before impact tests in order to prove their performance under cold
and warm temperatures, please ref. to point
&
chapter IV.
Further, all SCOTT protections are certified with ambient and wet
conditioning. Wet conditioning testing is used to simulate the high
humidity experienced during sports.
D. MISUSES
Bending or twisting the protector excessively is considered
improper use and it may cause the loss of protective properties or
damage the equipment.
Changes in environmental conditions such as temperature and wet-
ness could significantly reduce the performance of the protector.
During use, the protector's temperature must not drop below -20  ° C,
nor raise above 30°C.
We recommend that the SCOTT product should not be left out-
side, exposed to low temperatures or direct sunlight before use.
Any product modifications may cause loss of protection and are
therefore considered as improper use.
