Set up trailer operation
General
After installing the electrical towing kit, all mandatory trailer lighting will function. This does not include the monitoring of the
failure of either of the trailer flasher lamps. This has to be activated through the use of diagnostic equipment:
· control devices
· construction
· ZGW – central gateway
· control device adjustment
· read the coding and change if necessary
· trailer recognition (switch to "present")
· execute coding (F5)
After coding, the failure of a trailer direction will be advised through extended text information in the information display of the
combi-instrument, coupled with a change in frequency of the control light. In addition to the defect report, deactivation of reversing
parking sensors will be engaged when a trailer is connected.
