OPERATION
Measuring assembled wheels
Park the vehicle on a flat and even surface (a concrete floor is best). Check the state and air pressure
of the wheels; all measurements have to be equal and should be in accordance with the
manufacturer's recommendations. The vehicle should correlate with the ordinary driving conditions,
fuel tank filled up half, with a weight emulating the driver on the driver's seat. Remove wheel caps and
ornamental rings.
Attach the gauge to the center of the axle respectively the wheel hub with the water gauge facing
upwards and read/write down the measurements. Repeat this step on the other side of the vehicle. If
the wheels show uneven wear, the above procedure is not effective. In this case we recommend the
following method.
Measuring disassembled wheels
This method is more time-consuming but very precise. Jack up the vehicle. Jack up the body and the
wheel hub to a height that correlates with the load under normal conditions with all wheels assembled.
As soon as the vehicle stands firmly on assembly stands, you can lift up the axle to normal height by
using a jack.
Attach the gauge to the brake pad with the water gauge facing upwards. The brake pad must not
show signs of wear or grooves. We recommend using new brake discs. Bring steering into straight
forward position and read the measurement of the water gauge. Repeat this step on the other side of
the vehicle.
