EXTENSION CORDS
If you plan to use an extension cord when operating your air compressor, please note:
• Maximum length: not to exceed 50 ft. (15 m)
• Minimum wire size: 14 gauge.
• If the extension cord is too long or the wire size is too small, the air compressor will not start.
General Operation
1. IMPORTANT: First, turn the Power Switch OFF. (fig.1)
2. Close the Drain Valve. (fig.2)
3. Close the in-line shutoff valve between the Compressor and the air hose.
4. Pull the Safety Valve until pressure releases. This is important to allow the Motor to
start properly. (fig.3)
5. Plug the Power Cord into a grounded 120 VAC electrical outlet.(fig.4)
6. Turn the Power Switch ON. (fig.1)
7. Allow the Air Compressor to build up pressure until it cycles off.
8. Adjust the Regulator Knob so that the air output is enough to properly power the tool,
without exceeding the tool 's maximum air pressure at any time. Turn the knob
clockwise to increase the pressure and counterclockwise to decrease pressure.
Adjust the pressure gradually, while checking the Output Air Pressure Gauge to set
the pressure.
Note: At the beginning of the day's first use of the Air Compressor, check for air leaks by
applying soapy water to connections while the Air Compressor is pumping and after
pressure cutout.
Look for air bubbles. If air bubbles are present at connections, tighten connections. Do
not use the Air Compressor unless all connections are air tight; the extra air leaking out
will cause the Compressor to operate too often, increasing wear on the Compressor.
WARNING! TO PREVENT SERIOUS
INJURY AND DEATH FROM
EXPLOSION:
Do not adjust the internal
pressure switch.
NOTE
During the break-in period, there may be a slight smell as the electrical
motor brushes seat themselves. This may last for about 5 minutes and is normal.
CAUTION!
If the compressor does not run properly after 15 minutes of the
break-in or if you notice any abnormalities, please contact the service centre.
• Check that all nuts and bolts are snug.
CAUTION!
Before operating this unit, check it throroughly for damage or
corrosion. Ensure that tank, compressor, motor and pump are in good condition and
caps are tight.
