• Insert the hour (short) hand onto the pole of the movement and point to "12", then insert the minute hand on top of the hour hand, both hands
point to "12".
Remarks: There should be a gap between the 2 hands; test it by pulling the minute hand knob in the middle with little force, if the
minute hand stays intact, the installation is good
• Follow the time setting procedure below
This procedure applies whenever you re-assemble the hands, change batteries or the cuckoo sound does not align with the hour
1. BEFORE inserting batteries, set the time to 5:30 by turning the minute hand clockwise. Turn slowly and avoid touching the hour hand
underneath it
2. Remove the battery cover, insert 2 x AA battery into the compartment
3. Turn the minute hand clockwise to correct time position
Remarks: If the current time is PM (afternoon or evening), you should keep turning the minute hand until the hour hand pass "12" After
this, you can set the correct time position
4. Select sound for the cuckoo by moving the switch located on upper left corner of the movement. Options are "WESTMINSTER" sound ,
"CUCKOO" sound or "OFF" no sound
IMpOrtANt NOtES
1. Each time when you insert batteries, the Cuckoo will return to
default setting at 5:30 in the morning preparing for first call at
6am. You should follow the time setting procedure as indicated
2. Cuckoo sound follows the hour of the day. For example: at 6:00
o'clock (am or pm), you hear 6 times cuckoo; Westminster
sound is the same melody for every hour
3. The sound is pre-set to turn off automatically from 10:00pm to
5:00am every day
4. If the volume of sound becomes small, strange or stopped,
replace both batteries with complete new ones. Never mix old
and new batteries together
