FOR DROP CEILING
NOTE: A ladder may be needed for this step.
1.
Locate area for installation.
2. Review area above ceiling tile to confirm that it can
receive hot air discharge.
NOTE: Do not install in a confined or closed
space.
3. Place ceiling kit in a 24 x 24" opening in ceiling
grid. Install any missing ceiling tiles to prevent hot
air discharge from going back into the conditioned
space.
4. Place unit in designated area and connect duct
from ceiling kit to top of unit. To fasten duct to
exhaust port collar, squeeze tab to open clamp of
the buckle to thread strap through bottom side of
buckle, then pull strap as tightly as possible through
buckle. Confirm that duct is secured by lifting up on
the duct.
NOTE: The area where discharge air is directed
must be open to a space that is well-vented
or large enough to absorb the load without
pressurizing and coming back into the
conditioned space. Discharge make-up air will
come from conditioned space and create a
negative pressure in the conditioned area.
NOTE: The A/C unit must have fresh make-up air
going to the condenser to operate.
NOTE: The negative pressure will pull in
surrounding conditioned air and ambient air
from unsealed areas that may contain dust,
moisture or other particles. Additionally, the
ceiling kit replacement panel is not limited to
ceiling use. It may be placed or fastened to
any vertical or horizontal surface providing the
discharge and make-up air is directed to the
space where it is mounted. The A/C unit must
have fresh make-up air going to the condenser
to operate.
