Improper maintenance can be hazardous. Read and Understand this section before you perform any
CAUTION
maintenance, service or repairs.
•
Cordon off the work area and keep members of the public and unauthorised personnel at a safe distance.
•
Make sure you know how to safely switch this machine OFF before you switch it ON in case you get into dif¿ culty.
•
Never leave the Pump running when unattended.
•
Never remove or tamper with any guards ¿ tted, they are there for your protection. Always check guards for condition and security, if
any are damaged or missing DO NOT USE THE PUMP until the guard has been replaced or repaired.
•
Do not operate the Pump when you are ill, feeling tired, or when under the inÀ uence of alcohol or drugs.
•
The jet of water from the outlet hose could contain small stones travelling at great speed. Do not direct the water jet towards other
personnel, as this could cause injury.
•
The Pump should never be operated without the bottom casing. The unguarded impellar could cause serious injury to the user.
•
The Pump could have been used with contaminated water. Clean the Pump before commencing strip down procedures.
•
Ensure the Pump is mounted on a support. If used whilst on the bottom of a trench, mud and other residues may be dragged into
the Pump.
•
Ensure the Strainer is free from intruding objects such as Steel Mesh Wires or metal objects which could jam the Impeller.
•
Never Pump solvents, fuel or any explosive, À ammable or corrosive liquids.
•
Never refuel the Engine during operation.
VIBRATION
Some vibration from the Pump is transmitted through the Flexible Shaft to the operator's hands. Operational exposure time may need
limiting.
PPE (PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT).
Suitable PPE must be worn when using this equipment i.e. Safety Goggles, Gloves, Ear Defenders and Steel Toe capped footwear.
Wear clothing suitable for the work you are doing.
