4. Push the battery compartment cover 12 up.
5. Screw the side part 10 back again. Check the
correct positioning of the side part. The open-
ing must sit exactly above the socket for the

Mains Operation

Mains operation is particularly suitable if the
appliance is to be used in the same place over a
longer period:
Note! Transmitter and receiver must be set
to the same channel. You can see the selec-
ted channel in the channel number display 3.
You can change the channel setting with the
channel selector keys 18.
Switching On
1. Switch the transmitter 19 and the receiver
14 on. To do so turn the On/Off switches 2 /
17 counter-clockwise to "On". Push past the
slight resistance:
The control lamp 1 lights up. If not, check the
mains supply.
2. Select the same channel for both appliances.
You can change the channel with the
channel selector keys 18 and check the
selected channel in the display 3.
Testing
After connecting to mains or switching to bat-
teries, correct transmission must be checked:
1. Turn the transmitter 19 on and place near a
sound source, e.g. a radio.
2. Take the receiver 14 to another room and
check whether you can hear the sounds.
Please note that the receiver only comes in
after a certain minimum noise level has
been reached.
• saves batteries
• improves range
• improves reception.
1. Push the plug of the mains adaptor 5 into
the socket 6 of the transmitter 19 / the
receiver 14.
2. Push the mains adaptor 5 into a 230V, 50 Hz
mains socket.
Warning! Use only the supplied mains adaptor
Model PB-0920-DVD.
4. Operation
Transmitter
1. Place the transmitter 19 near the baby.
Warning! Keep at a distance of one meter
minimum.
For optimum sound transfer the built-in
microphone 8 should point in the direction
of the child and the aerial 21 upwards. Place
the transmitter as high as possible.
The transmitter has a VOX function effect. It
only transmits when a minimum noise level is
reached, i.e. when the child cries or screams.
This has several advantages:
• no transmitter emission in the non-working
state
• no constant noise level in the receiver
• saves batteries.
Receiver
1. Place the receiver 14 near you.
You can either stand it on a level surface, fix
it to your belt by the clip 9 or hang it up on a
wall. For optimum reception the aerial 21
should always point upwards.
As soon as the transmitter picks up sounds you
will hear them out of the loudspeaker 13. In
addition, the LED luminous band 16 will light
up more or less depending on the volume of
the sounds being picked up by the transmitter.
2. Set the desired volume at the volume
control 2.
