of stone/masonry are drawn into the vacuum hose, cease
work and clean the vacuum hose immediately. Prevent the
vacuum hose from being bent or creased.
–
Use the wall chaser only according to its intended use.
–
Only use tools that are in perfect condition. Decrease
in work progress is noticeable whilst using worn tools.
–
Observe the general requirements for construction
sites.
–
Provide for good ventilation.
–
Ensure that the working range/area is free of
obstructions. For longer slots, the vacuum cleaner must be
guided along in time, without obstructions in the path.
–
Wear hearing protection, protective goggles, dust
mask and gloves as required. As dust mask, use at least a
particle-filtering class FFP 2 half-mask.
–
Use a suitable vacuum cleaner for cleaning the
workplace. Prevent settled dust from being swirled up by
sweeping.
3. Adjusting the Auxiliary Handle 5
After loosening locking screw 3, the auxiliary handle
holder can be adapted to the respective working position.
When tightening locking screw 3, take care that the
four positioning pins on the auxiliary-handle holder are
seated in the holes of the protection guard.
4. Adjusting the Rear Handle 9
The rear handle 9 may be turned 90º to the left and to
the right in relation to the motor housing.
This enables the ON/OFF switch to be turned to the
most suitable working position.
To turn the rear handle, follow the instructions below:
-
Press the rear handle turning button 8 and, at the
same time, turn the rear handle 9 to the left or right until it
locks.
-
To return to the initial position, do the same in re-
verse.
5. Mounting Diamond Cutting Discs
WARNING! When mounting and replacing diamond
cutting discs, it is recommended to wear protective gloves.
WARNING! Diamond cutting discs become very hot
during operation; do not touch them until they have cooled
down.
-
Place the power tool on its side so that the cover of the
protection guard 13 could be seen.
-
Screw out four screws of the cover 10.
-
Take the cover off its place.
-
Press the spindle lock button 2 to lock the grinding
spindle.
-
Loosen the clamping nut with the spanner and
unscrew the clamping nut. Remove the spacer discs. Clean
the grinder spindle and all parts to be mounted.
The slot width results from the amount of spacer discs
between the two diamond cutting discs and the cutting
width of the diamond cutting discs. The allowable slot width
is shown in the section "Technical Data". The machine can
be operated with one or two diamond cutting discs.
-
Place the diamond cutting disc on the spindle and
then the spacer discs on the spindle. Then place second
diamond cutting disc on the spindle.
WARNING! Regardless of the requested slot width,
all spacer discs provided must always be mounted.
Otherwise, the diamond cutting disc can become loose
during operation and lead to injuries.
WARNING! At least one spacer disc must be mounted
between two diamond cutting discs. When mounting the
diamond cutting discs, ensure that the direction-of-rotation
arrows on the diamond cutting discs match with the rotation
8
direction of the machine (see directionof-rotation arrow on
the gear case).
Press the spindle lock button 2 to lock the grinding
-
spindle.
-
Screw on the clamping nut and tighten it with the
spanner wrench.
-
Take the cover on its place.
-
Screw in four screws of the cover 10.
Note. When working with 2 diamond cutting discs,
always replace them in pairs.
6. Mains connection
Make sure the mains voltage is correct: it must be
the same as that on the specification label. Machines with
230V can also be connected to a 220V mains supply.
START UP
1. Pre-selecting the Cutting Depth
WARNING! The cutting depth may only be pre-
selected when the machine is switched off.
Loosen clamping lever 11 and adjust the desired
cutting depth according to the cutting-depth scale 12.
Afterwards, tighten clamping lever 11 again.
2. Switching On and Off
WARNING! Before starting the machine, place the
power tool in such a manner on both rear chaser rollers 4
that the diamond cutting discs do not touch the workpiece.
Otherwise, the diamond cutting discs can touch the
workpiece, resulting in possible loss of control over the
power tool when switching on.
To start the power tool, press the On/Off switch 1
forward and then down.
To lock-on the pressed On/Off switch 1, push the On/
Off switch 1 further forward.
To switch off the power tool, release the On/Off switch
1, or when it is locked, briefly press the On/Off switch 1 and
then release it.
3. Overload Protection (SD230/2600E)
When overloaded, the motor comes to a stop. Relieve
the load on the machine immediately and allow to cool
down for approx. 30 seconds at the highest no-load speed.
4. Restarting Protection
The restarting protection feature prevents uncontrolled
restarting of the machine after an interruption in the power
supply.
To restart the operation, switch the On/Off switch 1 to
the Off position and start the machine again.
Note. Check the function of the restarting protection
feature regularly by having the mains plug pulled during
operation and plugged in again afterwards.
5. Constant electronic control
The SD230/2600E machines is equipped with an
electronic circuit that maintains constant motor revolutions
in all working situations, guaranteeing optimal working
conditions.
OPERATION
WARNING! Do not strain the machine so heavily that
it comes to a standstill.
WARNING! Clamp the workpiece if it does not remain
stationary due to its own weight.
WARNING! The machine may only be used for dry
cutting.
WARNING! Always guide the machine with both
handles. Do not guide or carry the machine by the elbow.
-
Adjust the cutting depth, see section "Pre-selecting
the Cutting Depth". To compensate inaccuracies that occur
