DDW 100 (220/240V) machine are delivered
For protection of the user, the motor, and drill crown,
the DDW 100 drill is fitted with mechanical, electronic,
and thermal, overload protection.
Mechanical: In the event that the drill crown is blocked,
the drill spindle is disconnected from the motor by
means of a slip coupling.
Care should be taken regarding the resulting torque
reaction.
Electronic: To warn the user of drill overload in the
event of too great an advance, a LED is integrated in
the handle. In a no load operation, or in normal use, no
indication is given. In the case of excess use the LED
glows red, and the machine's work load must be redu-
ced. Should the LED warning be ignored for an exten-
ded period the machine will automatically stopped,
electronically.
After work load reduction and restart, it is possible to
continue working normally.
Thermal:
The machine is protected against damage
resulting from constant use by a heat element. In this
event the machine automatically stops and can only be
restarted after a cooling period (approximately 2
minutes).
This cooling period is dependent upon motor coil hea-
ting, and the ambient temperature.
After restarting, to accelerate cooling, allow the machi-
ne to operate load free for 1 to 2 minutes.
Machine stoppage due to overheating does not
mean that the machine is faulty. After a certain per-
iod of time has lapsed, normal working is possible.
