INSTALLATION
Plaster Frame Collar Rotational Alignment and
Height Adjustment
Rotation Adjustment
If adjustment of the rotational alignment of the collar
is necessary, loosen the collar centering thumbnut
and the collar locking thumbnut (Figure 1.). Rotate the
collar to the desired position and then tighten the collar
locking thumbnut. Do not tighten the collar centering
thumbnut once the rotation disc has been changed
from the factory set position.
Height Adjustment
Loosen the (4) combo head screws and allow the collar
to drop down to the lowest position (Figure 2.). The
collar will accommodate ceiling thickness from 1/2"
through 1" . If the collar does not extend even with the
finished ceiling surface it will be necessary to use the
extended depth collar, EDC4X41 or EDC4X42. Please
refer to the installation instructions for the extended
depth collars.
Plaster Lathing Ring Mounting
1.
Remove any dust or dirt from the surface.
2.
Apply an even coat of drywall corner bead
spray adhesive (3M type 61 or equivalent) to
the backside of perforated flange of the plaster
lathing ring following the adhesive manufacturer's
instructions and warnings. Important - keep
the adhesive overspray away from the housing
platform.
3.
Remove and set aside the protective cover provided
with the plaster lathing ring. Snap the plaster lathing
ring securely to the collar.
4.
Apply uniform pressure across the length and width
of the perforated flange forming a tight bond with the
ceiling. Tighten the (4) combo head screws securing
the collar into position. Allow sufficient cure time
as recommended by the manufacturer before the
application of joint compound.
5.
Replace the protective cover.
