Instruction manual
Avoid any accidental starting: make sure that the power
switch (if present) is in the «off» position, before plugging the
tool in.
Remove adjusting keys or wrenches before turning the tool
EN
on.
Do not use the tool if the switch does not turn the tool on
or off. Any tool that cannot be controlled with the switch is
dangerous and must be repaired.
During the use of power tools, some dust containing chemicals
known to cause cancer, may occur. Some of these chemicals are:
lead from lead based paints, crystalline silica from bricks and
cement and other masonry products, arsenic and chromium
from chemically treated lumber and other dangerous
products. If dust is present, your risk from these exposures
varies, depending on how often you do this type of work. To
reduce your exposure to these chemicals, any time you do
pulverulent operations, work in a well ventilated area and work
with approved safety equipment, such as dust masks that are
specially designed to filter out microscopic particles.
If the appliance strikes a foreign body, examine the device
for signs of damage and carry out any necessary repairs before
restarting and continuing to work.
If the appliance starts to vibrate abnormally, turn it off
and check for the cause immediately. Vibration is generally a
warning of trouble.
Always switch off the appliance and wait until the device
completely stops whenever you leave the machine, before
carrying out maintenance, before checking, cleaning or working
on the appliance.
It is forbidden to move or modify any of the internal parts
of the device.

Specific safety rules

Keep safety guards in place and in working order. Never
operate the tool with any guard or cover or shield removed.
Make sure all guards, shields, protectors are operating properly
before each use.
Do not use grinding discs (5) with incorrect size bore. Never
use disc washers or disc screws that are defective or incorrect.
Never touch grinding disc (5) or other moving parts.
Never stand on tool. Serious injury could occur if the tool is
tipped or if the grinding disc (5) is unintentionally contacted.
Be aware of grinding disc (5) rotation direction; never grind
without the workpiece supports (2) being properly set.
Never grind more than one workpiece at a time.
Check damaged parts before further use of the tool, a
guard/shield or other part that is damaged should be carefully
checked to determine that it will operate properly and perform
its intended function. Check for alignment of moving parts,
binding of moving parts, breakage of parts, mounting and
any other conditions that may affect its operation. A guard/
shield or other part that is damaged must be properly repaired
or replaced by an authorised service centre to avoid risk of
personal injury.
Never reach to pick up a workpiece, a piece of scrap, or
WARNING
anything else that is in or near the grinding path of the grinding
disc (5).
Avoid awkward operations and hand positions where a
sudden slip could cause your hand to move into the grinding
disc (5). Always make sure you have good balance.
Never stand or have any part of your body in line with the
path of the grinding disc (5).
Do not turn the motor on and off rapidly. This could cause
the grinding disc (5) to loosen and could create a hazard. Should
this ever occur, stand clear and allow the grinding disc (5) to
come to a complete stop. Disconnect your grinder from the
power supply and securely retighten the disc nut (15).
Use only flanges furnished with this bench grinder.
Do not overtighten the disc nut (15). Excessive tightening
can cause the grinding disc (5) to crack during operation.
Inspect grinding disc (5) for visible defects. Check the
grinding disc (5) for fissures and cracks, and test for normal
operation prior to use.
Adjust distance between grinding disc (5) and workpiece
support (2) to maintain 1.6mm or less separation as the diameter
of the grinding disc (5) decreases with use. In any case, the value
of separation shall not be more than 3 mm.
Always ease the workpiece against the grinding disc (5)
when starting to grind. A harsh impact can break the grinding
disc (5). Use light pressure when starting to grind; too much
pressure on a cold grinding disc (5) can cause the disc (5) to
crack.
Never start the grinder when the grinding disc (5) is in
contact with the workpiece.
Secure work. Always hold workpiece firmly against the
workpiece support (2).
Do not use the bench grinder if the flange/disc nut or clamp
nut is missing or if the spindle shaft is bent.
Frequently clean grinding dust from beneath grinder.
The operation of any grinder can result in foreign objects
being thrown into your eyes, which can result in severe eye
damage. Before beginning power tool operation, always wear
safety goggles or safety glasses with side shields and a full face
shield when needed. We recommend a wide vision safety mask
for use over eyeglasses or standard safety glasses with side
shields.
Work in a well ventilated area and use a safety mask to
protect your lungs.
Unpacking
When unpacking, check to make sure that all components are
included. Refer to the drawings on this manual. If any parts are
missing or broken, please call IVT assistance center.
Installation
Always place the tool on a stable work surface. For
stationary use fasten the tool to the bench with four fixing
screws or clamps.
Fit the spark deflector (3) to the tool so that there is a
