manual, the appliance is safe to use based on scientific evidence available today.
Before first use
Remove any stickers and wipe the body of the appliance and the bread
1
baskets with a damp cloth.
Before you use the appliance for the first time, we advise you to let the
2
appliance complete a few toasting cycles without slices of bread on the
highest browning setting in a properly ventilated room. This burns off
any dust that may have accumulated on the heating elements and
prevents unpleasant smells during toasting.
Using the appliance
Put the appliance on a stable and flat surface, away from curtains and
1
other combustible materials.
Put the plug in the wall socket. You can adjust the length of the cord
2
by winding part of it round the brackets in the bottom of the
appliance (Fig. 2).

Tip: You can also use the appliance to toast separate slices of bread without a filling.
Lift the bread baskets out of the appliance by means of the handles.
2
Put a sandwich or one slice of bread in each basket. (Fig. 3)

baskets, for a good and even toasting result.
Insert the bread baskets into the appliance.
4
Select the desired browning setting. (Fig. 4)
5
-
Select a low setting (1-2) for lightly toasted sandwiches or slices of bread.
-
Select a high setting (5-7) for darkly toasted sandwiches or slices of bread.
-
Select the defrost function Ñ (settings 6 to 7, depending on the desired
browning degree) for toasting frozen bread.
Note: If the bread is damp or if you have put a lot of ingredients between the slices,
the appliance needs a longer toasting time to produce the same toasting result.
Push the toasting lever down to switch on the appliance. (Fig. 5)
6
Note: The toasting lever only stays down if the appliance is connected to the
mains.
When the toasted sandwiches or slices of bread are ready, the toasting
,
lever pops up and the appliance switches off automatically.
Note: You can stop the toasting process at any time by pressing the stop button
on the toaster.
Caution: If a slice of bread gets stuck inside the toaster, unplug the appliance
and let it cool down before you try to remove the bread. Do not use a
