Hazard caused by electrical current
The device is only suitable for use in closed rooms.
Switch off the device completely if you will not be using it for an extended period of time.
Switch off the device or remove the plug before moving, cleaning or emptying the device.
Only use the power cable supplied with the device.
In the case of damage or improper functioning, switch off the device immediately and
remove the mains plug. Have the device checked by a specialist dealer or the customer
services department.
The device must not be operated with a damaged power cable.
Hazardous for children
Do not leave the document shredder unattended, especially if children or animals are nearby.
The device is not a toy. Keep children and pets away from it.
Keep the packaging material away from children. It presents a suffocation hazard amongst
other things.
Hazardous to health
Keep long and/or unsecured items, e.g. articles of clothing (scarfs, ties, etc.) and jewellery
(necklaces, bracelets, etc.), and also long hair, away from the slide-in opening.
Do not put your hands or fingers into the inlet shaft, as this may result in serious injuries.
Position the device near a power source which can easily be reached in case of emergency
and avoid using an extension cable if possible. Ensure the cable does not present a trip
hazard.
On no account open the cutting unit in the event of technical problems. Contact the customer
service address at the end of these instructions in such cases.
Danger of material damage
As standard practice, avoid contact with liquids and do not spray any inflammable liquids,
compressed air or gases on or into the device as these could easily ignite.
This device is designed for the shredding of paper up to size DIN A4 (80g/m²). Larger sizes
of paper must be folded or reduced to A4 size prior to shredding.
The maximum sheet capacity is reduced accordingly.
To avoid overloading, please ensure that you do not exceed the maximum number of sheets
with each shredding operation. Note in this respect the specifications on page 6 of these
instructions.
Continuous operation must not exceed the time indicated for the model.
Empty the collection container tray on a regular basis.
Do not pass any plastic film or metal strips through the cutting mechanism as materials such
as these may damage the blades.
