Application
The Siedle Steel Code Lock
SCOM 611‑... is an input unit for
entering codes for door calls and
control functions in conjunction with
the Siedle Vario bus.
For the management of door calls,
the call controller RC 602‑... and for
control functions the Easikey con‑
troller EC 602‑... is required.
The functional unit Code lock
SCOM 611‑... is referred to as COM
in the following.
Description
The Code Lock features a decimal
keypad with the numbers 0–9
for entering codes, a call button
for placing calls, an F button for
entering codes, a C button for can‑
celling/interrupting incorrect entries
and a key symbol switch for direct
door opening without entering a
code.
Example for DR actuation:
Enter the code using the decimal
keypad and initiate by pressing
the F button. When a button is
actuated, an acoustic feedback
signal (signal tone) is audible. Up
to 8 COM units can be operated at
one EC/RC 602‑... A unique address
is always required for each COM
where several COM units are con‑
nected to one EC/RC 602‑...
Observe the address setting!
Using the BCD rotary switch on the
back of the COM, addresses 1 to
8 are set. The settings 0 and 9 and
double assignment of numbers will
cause a functional failure of the
COM.
Removing the COM see under
Service.
Electrical voltage
Mounting, installation and servicing
work on electrical devices may only
be performed by a suitably qualified
electrician.
Range
The conductor network laid
throughout the entire Vario bus
must not exceed 2000 m. The loop
resistance (forward and return line
between the functional unit and
the control unit) must not exceed
20 Ohm.
A core diameter of 0.8 mm results in
a range of appr. 250 m. The power
supply to the Vario Bus components
is provided by a separate transformer
TR 602‑...
Steps must be taken to ensure that
the supply voltage never exceeds
9 V AC at any device with maximum
current consumption.
In conjunction with Siedle door com‑
munication systems, certain ranges
must be observed between the
door loudspeaker and line rectifier/
between the door loudspeaker and
the in‑house telephone. For more
information on this subject, see the
Planning and Installation Guidelines
for Door and In‑house Telephone
Communication.

Conductor routing
In order to comply with the general
safety regulations for telecom‑
munication systems in accordance
with VDE 0100 and VDE 0800, and
to prevent electrical interference,
ensure separate routing of heavy
and light current conductors. A dis‑
tance of 10 cm must be adhered to.
Installation
Wiring diagram
See the Planning and Installation
Guidelines for Door and In‑house
Telephone Communication.
Note
All installed functional units are
completely pre‑assembled in the
Steel system. All that is necessary is
connection to the installation.
Connection system:
Steel: Connection via connecting
circuit board
Steel, surface‑mounted: Connect
not as described here but in analogy
to Siedle Vario using terminal blocks.
Circuit diagrams are provided in the
relevant system manuals. These are
enclosed with the line rectifier/server.
