- use only the lower bolt to install the hydraulic cylinder on the bracket, but do not tighten the bolts. Fasten the main arm and
then, using the upper bolt, install the hydraulic cylinder on the main arm. Then fasten all the connections tightly, allowing for free
movement of the elements,
- insert the extension of the arm into the main arm, place at a position corresponding to the weight to be lifted and protect it with
a bolt and a nut,
- all the pins used during assembly must be protected with cotter pins.
Before the first use the crane. Close the release valve, turning it clockwise. Then using the arm of the hydraulic cylinder lift the
crane to the full height and lower it, slowly turning the valve anticlockwise. The cycle of lifting and lowering must be repeated
several times, observing whether all the elements are functioning correctly. This will also guarantee a proper distribution of the
hydraulic oil.
Attention! It is required to periodically check all the screwed connections, and tighten them if necessary. This will increase safety
of operation and prolong the life of the lift.
Storage (XXIII – XXV)
Cranes may be folded to a storage position, which permits to save place during storage of the device.
The base of the crane permits to lift the legs.
In case of the cranes YT-55560 and YT-55561, it is required to first turn the support and lock it at the lower position with pins
protected with cotter pins. Then it is required to remove the pin locking the leg at the lower position, lift the leg and then insert the
pin in the hole, which permits to lock the leg at the upper position and secure it with a cotter pin.
Lifting and lowering of loads
Before lifting may commence, make sure that the operator of the crane has the crane itself and the lifted load within the range of
sight during all realised movements.
Pull out the arm of the crane and secure it with bolts and nuts in a position corresponding to the expected load. If the weight of the
load is unknown, the nit is required to place the extension of the arm in a position which permits to lift the highest load.
Attention! It is prohibited to protect it just with bolts. A bolt which is not secured with a nut may fall out during work, which in turn
may cause a movement of the arm, increasing the risk of serious injuries, and even death.
Lower the arm of the crane to a height which permits easy fixing of lifted loads to the hook of the crane.
Using the arm of the hydraulic cylinder close the relief valve, turning it home clockwise (XXVI).
Place the crane over the load so as the hook is over the centre of gravity of the load. Secure the crane from movements. Fix the
load to the hook of the crane. While fixing the load observe the safety regulations. The load should be fixed to the hook in such
a manner that it is possible to close the load locking device. If necessary, use additional elements (e.g. cords, chains, beams,
etc.) to fix the load to the hook. Take into account the weight of the additional elements while planning the load carrying capacity
of the crane.
Insert the arm of the hydraulic cylinder into the socket. Moving the arm upwards and downwards lift the load to the required
height.
Once the load has been lifted, it is permitted to slowly move the load with particular care. Protect the load from swaying.
Place the load over the supports of the arm of the hydraulic cylinder and slowly turn the release valve anticlockwise.
Do not open the release valve more than this is required to slowly lower the load.
Excessive opening of the valve may cause its removing from the casing.
Once the load has been completely placed on the supports, it should be removed from the hook of the crane, and the crane
removed from the place of support of the crane.
Maintenance
If the crane is not used, the piston of the hydraulic cylinder and the socket of the arm of the hydraulic cylinder must be in the
lower position.
The crane must be kept clean, and the external moving elements of the crane must be lubricated.
Filling the oil tank and lubrication
It is required to have the following maintenance action realised in a specialised service point.
From time to time bubbles of air accumulate in the hydraulic system of the hydraulic cylinder, which may reduce the efficiency of
operation of the crane. If this is the case, purge the hydraulic system of the hydraulic cylinder.
Dismantle the hydraulic cylinder from the crane, and then place it in such a manner that the piston is in vertical position. Open
the release valve and remove the plug of the oil tank. Then move strongly several Times the pump of the hydraulic cylinder, so
as to push the air outside.
Close the release valve and replace the oil tank plug. Install the hydraulic cylinder on the crane. Check the operation of the crane,
and if necessary repeat the purging operation.
