• Check that the water pipe enters the top of the filter when you close the lid, or the water
will miss the coffee grounds.
3) Lower both mounts into the filter holder.
• Sit a basket filter on top of the mounts.
11 Put 1 scoop of filter-ground coffee into the filter for each cup.
12 Close the lid.
13 Replace the carafe on the hotplate.
C SWITCH ON
14 Put the plug into the power socket. The button will glow.
15 Press the button once for 2 cups, twice for 4 cups, three times for 5-10 cups.
16 The lights will glow to show the number of cups.
17 At 2 and 4, the appliance turns itself off when it has finished brewing.
18 At 0, the hotplate will keep the coffee warm for 1 hour.
19 The 0 light will blink, to show the hotplate is operating.
20 After 1 hour, the hotplate will switch off.
21 Don't touch – it will still be hot.
22 To switch off while the coffee maker is brewing, press the button once.
C CARE AND MAINTENANCE
23 Unplug the appliance.
24 Tip the contents of the filter holder into the bin.
25 Hand wash the carafe and filter holder.
26 Press the lever at the rear of the carafe lid, above the handle, to open the carafe lid.
27 When you replace the filter holder in the coffee maker:
a) Press the filter holder down, and hold it down.
b) Move the handle fully forward.
c) The locks on the handle will engage with the pins in the coffee maker, and hold the filter
holder down against the upward pressure from the carafe.
28 Clean the outside surfaces of the appliance with a damp cloth.
29 Don't put any part of the appliance in a dishwasher.
C DESCALING
30 Descale regularly. Use a proprietary brand of descaler suitable for use in plastic-bodied
products. Follow the instructions on the package of descaler.
