Taking shots using
the self4imer
Place the camera on afirm surface
or, (even better) secure it to a tri-
pod by means of the socket 23.
Quickly swivel the panel in and
out twice as usual and slide
switch I0 downwards: you will
then be able to see the switch-on
symbol l. Fully depress the shutter
release 2 and then release it * -fi4.
Q. Theflashing indicator 8 will
show that the self-timer is operat-
ing, and this mechanism will ex-
pose the shot after approximately
16 sec. In order to switch offthe
s e lf+imer 9rt97 s hooting, res et
switch l0 so that you are able to
see the switch-off symbol0.
Note: If the shutter release is de-
pressed once again during the de-
lay period, the self-timer will start
againfrom the beginning. If switch
I0 is reset whilst the selflimer is
operating, the shot is taken imme-
diately.
In order to switch-off the self-timer
whilst it is still operating bgfuIg
the shot, swivel out the panel, re-
set switch l0 and then swivel the
panel back in position.
The self-timer is also recommend-
edfor long exposures when using
the tripod in order to ensure that
the camera remains perfectly sta-
tionarv.
Shots using
a'llash
Insert theflash unit (e. g. the
Rollei Beta 2) with its center con-
tact terminal into the accessory
shoe 4 - -fi4. R. Lock the slide
switch 14 to the requiredf/number
setting and this will simultaneous-
ly provide a synchronization of
l/30 sec. Intermediate settingi
cannot be used. The operating ins-
tructions provided with yourflash
unit will give youfurther details of
distance and f/numb er. After
taking the lastflash shot, reset the
slide switch 14 to "4".
Note:If you set on f/number,
the green/red signals change
is insignificant:o green
signal : flash mode, a red
signal : shutter release.
