Tool description - Operation
Operation
The tool is switched ON and OFF at the 2-stage switch on the front of the grip. The distance from the object
you are working on depends on material and intended method of working. Always try out airflow and tem-
perature on a test piece first. Using the attachable accessory nozzles (see accessories page on the cover)
the flow of hot air can be controlled with maximum precision.
A small quantity of smoke may occur the first time the tool is used; this is normal and will soon subside.
5
Switch the tool OFF by sliding the switch
to the "0" setting
Exercise care when changing hot nozzles! When using the hot air gun in the self-resting position, make
sure it is standing on a stable, non-slip and clean surface.
Basic temperature setting, "jumpers"
Stage 1 is the cold-air stage, temperature is always 25°C (room temperature). Use the cold-air function for
drying paint, cooling workpieces or for cooling the nozzle before changing the accessory attachment.
In stage 2, the air delivery temperature is determined by the jumper you are using and by the dial setting.
Other temperature ranges can be set using interchangeable jumpers
cations). Storage is also provided by the jumper holder in the stand. To change the jumper, first disconnect
the tool from the mains power supply. Use your index finger and thumb to remove jumper no longer needed
from the tool. Select the temperature (jumper) you require from the holder in the stand and plug it into the
tool. You may continue using the tool once the jumper has clipped into place.

Precision adjustment of temperature, setting the airflow rate
Turning the dial
7
allows you to adjust the temperature within specific ranges and also set the airflow rate.
Turning anticlockwise (LO mark) reduces the temperature and increases the airflow rate. Turning clockwise
(HI mark) increases the temperature and reduces the airflow rate. For temperature range guide values, see
Technical specifications.
Working with the stand
Press the locking button using your thumb and index finger
lease the locking lever. Pressing the locking button allows you to turn the HG 1750 backwards and forwards
to change the direction of air delivery.
Use without the stand
Before using the tool without the stand, the rest must be mounted to the ventilation slots on the
motor
12
. The tool can now be set down safely without the stand.
Changing the heating elements
The plug-in heating element in the HG 1750 can be changed in a matter of seconds.
1. Important ! Disconnect tool from power supply. Be careful if the tool has just been in use.
The guard sleeve will still be very hot. Let it cool down first.
3
2. Undo the screws
at the end of the guard sleeve.
3. Detach guard sleeve.
4. Detach heating element and replace it with a new one.
5. Push guard sleeve back on again and screw into place.
