20. Check damaged parts

Before further use of the tool, it should be carefully checked
to determine that it will operate properly and perform its
intended function.

Check for alignment of moving parts, binding of moving
parts, breakage of parts, mounting and any other
conditions that may affect its operation.
A guard or other part that is damaged should be properly
repaired or replaced by an authorized service centre
unless otherwise indicated in this instruction manual.

Have defective switches replaced by an authorized service
centre.

Do not use the tool if the switch does not turn it off.

recommended in this instruction manual may present a

This electric tool complies with the relevant safety rules.
Repairs should be carried out only by qualifi ed persons
using original spare parts, otherwise considerable danger
to the user may result.

Special security advice
• Never use the machine without the appropriate guard
in place and correctly adjusted.
• Do not use knives which are blunt, as this increases
the danger of kickback.
• Any portion of the cutter block not being used for
planing should be guarded.
• When planing short workpieces a push-stick should
be used.
• When planing narrow workpieces additional
measures, such as the use of horizontal pressure
devices and spring load guards, may be necessary
to ensure safety.
• Planing machines should not be used for cut, rebate,
recess, tenon or mould.
• The effectiveness of the device for the prevention of
kickback and the feed spindle should be regularly
inspected to ensure safe operation.
• Tools equipped with chip collection and extractor
hoods should be connected to the dust-and-chip-
collecting device.

Safety Devices
Anti-kickback lock
The machine is equipped with an anti-kickback lock, which
prevents the workpiece from being thrown back against the
operator by the rotating cutter block.

Limit switch
The limit switch prevents the machine from starting, unless
the dust chute is properly installed.
Thermal cutout switch
Your planer is equipped with a thermal protection switch.
If the motor stops due to overheating, wait for it to reset
normally and then press the thermal cutout switch on the
side of the planer.
Cutter block guard
The cutter block cover prevents the rotating cutter block
from being touched when surface planing.
