Operating instructions.
Always use the securing cable for protection
against falling down. The path of fall in case of
breakage may not exceed 100 mm (max.). Tighten
the nuts of the wire-cable clamps with a tightening
torque of 4 Nm.
Carry out the suspension in such a manner that it can be
adjusted in the pull direction of the wire cable.
When suspending welding guns, use an electrically insu-
lated swivel hook.

To limit the drawing-in of the cable, loosen the cable-
clamp screw, adjust the cable clamp and retighten the
cable-clamp screw again.
To adjust the desired cable length, remove the spring
hook, loosen the cable at the cable wedge (b) and pull the
cable downward. Adjust the cable length and push the
cable upward again, until the cable wedge locks the cable
again. Guide the overlapping cable end (minimum length
5 cm) through ring (a) and reinsert the spring hook again.
(see page 9)
In case the spring breaks, the balancer will block the
cable. When the load setting is too low, the spring-break-
age safety feature can actuate and block the balancer. In
this case, turn the adjustment screw a few turns in the
"+" direction.

Reduce the load to lock the wire cable. Turn the locking
button until the red dot is visible.
Do not release the lock when the load

is suspended.
To limit the drawing-in of the cable, loosen the cable-
clamp screw, adjust the cable clamp and retighten the
cable-clamp screw again. The rubber buffer must always
be mounted between the balancer housing and the cable
clamp.
In case the spring breaks, the balancer will block the
cable. This is recognisable when the clearance of the
adjustment screw is approx. 4 mm.
When the load is too low, the spring-breakage safety fea-
ture can actuate and block the balancer. In this case, turn
the adjustment screw a few turns in the "+" direction and
pull the spring-breakage safety feature.
When the cable reel rotates too quickly (e. g. lock loos-
ened without load, rapid lifting and lowering of the load),
a centrifugal-force securing mechanism blocks the bal-
ancer. In case the centrifugal-force securing mechanism
no longer releases, have the balancer repaired by an
authorised FEIN specialist workshop.
Repair and customer service.
Repairs of the balancer and the accessories are to be car-
ried out through a FEIN customer service agent.
The current spare parts list for this power tool can be
found in the Internet at www.fein.com.
Continuously maintain and visually check the balancer.
Lubricate all exterior, moving parts as well as the friction
points of spring and safety hooks. Maintaining the cable
with acid-free grease will reduce wear considerably.
Check the wire cable and the securing cable once every
week (when using frequently more often) for damage,
wear and broken wire strands.
Secure the extended wire cable during
WARNING
cleaning and maintenance against acci-
dental drawing-in.
The wire cable may only be shortened through a FEIN
customer service agent.

A new wire cable is available from the FEIN customer
service agent.
The wire cable can be replaced without opening the bal-
ancer housing.
Pull the wire cable out so that the wire-cable
end can be seen laterally in the balancer.
Lock the cable reel by pressing on the screw and
turning it by 90° with the appropriate screwdriver.
Loosen the wire cable at the fastening screw and
install a new wire cable.
Firstly, secure the wire cable against uninten-
tional drawing-in, then loosen the lock of the cable
reel and allow the wire cable to slowly draw into
the balancer housing.
