Intended use
The GH Positioning Lock is used to lock a traverse rail system in
a certain position. It is possible to lock a hoist and traverse rail
individually or together at the same time.
The GH Positioning Lock is mechanical and is controlled via an
infrared (IR) remote control. The system/hoist is placed in the
desired position and then locked by pressing a button on the IR
remote control. To unlock the system, press the remote control
once again; see section 2.00.

Conditions for use
The use of the GH Positioning Lock is subject to the following
prerequisites:
•
The GH Positioning Lock is only designed for installation with
the GH3+ ceiling hoist in A, B or C rails.
•
The GH Positioning Lock may only be used by qualified
personnel.
•
The hoist may not be used to lift patients when one or more of
the locks are activated.
•
It is important that the lock is always disconnected before
lifting patients (the user)
•
The GH Positioning Lock may not be used with the following
Guldmann products: GH Combi-Lock, GH Switch Track, GH
Rail Curves GH Turntable, GH Drive motor for traverse rail or
hoist with drive motor.
•
When the positioning lock is activated and the lifting strap is
angled more than 45 degrees from the vertical position, the
hoist can be loaded with maximum 20 kg.

Mounting a new GH Positioning Lock in an existing
hoist/rail system
The GH Positioning Lock is Class I equipment and must be instal-
led by the Guldmann Service Team or by a certified installer.
Disconnect the equipment from the power supply by flipping the
main breaker switch.
The GH Positioning Lock is equipped with batteries that require
regular charging. The power supply for charging and the trans-
former must be connected by the Guldmann Service Team or a
certified installer.
The GH Positioning Lock is charged automatically in one of the
parallel rails. This ensures that the GH Positioning Lock will
always work and be ready for use, and that the batteries last
longer.
The transformer must be connected and switched on before
charging can take place. A green indicator light on the transformer
indicates that it is connected and turned on.
Always use the transformer supplied.
Safety concerning static electricity (ESD)
Service technicians and installers must use an ESD-safety
package consisting of a mat, a ground wire, and a bracelet. The
technician/installer connects the mat to a grounding point, for
instance a radiator or a water pipe. The technician/installer must
then put on the bracelet and connect it to the mat. If it is not pos-
sible to find a grounding point, the mat and the bracelet must be
used as a minimum.
Only then is it allowed to work with the PC Board or components
where it is possible to come into contact with the PC Board.
