buttons (12, 11) are not pressed, and steam control
(15) is closed
3.2 Use and care:
3.2.1. Priming the circuit:
This simple operation ensures optimum dispensing
and must be carried out:
•When first starting
•When the machine has been out of use for a long
time(1 or 2 weeks)
•After making steam
•When the tank has run out of water.
3.2.1.1. Fill the receptacle taking care to observe the
MAX level
3.2.1.2. Connect the appliance to the mains.
3.2.1.3. Press the power switch (12) to ON position.
The (13) pilot light will come on
3.2.1.4.You do not have to wait for the machine to
heat up for this operation
3.2.1.5. Without fitting the filter holder (or with the
filter holder fitted, but without coffee), place a recipi-
ent under the steam pipe (16)
3.2.1.6. Open the steam knob (15) by turning counter
clockwise.
3.2.1.7. Press the coffee /water switch(11) to on
position
3.2.1.8. Water will exit through the steam pipe. Wait
until approximately one cupful has exited
3.2.1.9. To finish, switch the coffee / water switch
to OFF position and close the steam knob (15) by
turning clockwise
3.2.1.10. This will complete the priming operation.
3.2.2. Filling the tank with water:
The water tank must be filled with water before turn-
ing the appliance on.
3.2.2.1. Remove the water tank.
3.2.2.2. Open the cover.
3.2.2.4. Fill the tank taking care to observe the MAX
level(Fig. 1)
3.2.2.5. Close the lid.
3.2.2.6. Replace the tank in its housing, ensuring that
it is well fitted.
3.2.3. Preparing coffee:
3.2.3.1. Before connecting the machine, check that
the buttons(12, 11) are not pressed, and steam
control (15) is closed
3.2.3.2. Connect the appliance to the mains.
3.2.3.3. Remove the filter holder.
3.2.3.4. Insert the ground coffee into the filter holder.
3.2.3.5. Fill the removable filter with ground coffee
(6-7 g per cup to be prepared).Or refer to instructions
on coffee pack.
3.2.3.6. Next lightly press down and twist the ground
coffee with the back of the measuring spoon (6).
3.2.3.7. Position the filter holder in the coffee assem-
bly by inserting the assembly and turning it from left
to right until it locks into place.
3.2.3.8. Turn the appliance on using the on/off switch
(12)
3.2.3.9. The (13) pilot light comes on.
3.2.3.10. Wait until the pilot light (9) is lighting up.
3.2.3.11. Place one or two pre-heated cups at the
filter holder outlet.
3.2.3.12. Press the coffee switch (11) to the ON posi-
tion The coffee infusion will begin to exit. When you
have obtained the desired quantity of espresso coffee
turn the coffee switch(11) to OFF position
3.2.3.13. Once serving has finished, wait a few
seconds and remove the cups with the coffee.
3.2.3.14. The temperature of the coffee will be around
75°C
3.2.3.15. Remove the filter holder and empty the
grounds from it.
3.2.3.16. Wash the filter holder with running water
and dry it well.
3.2.3.17. Check that the removable filter is perfectly
fitted into the filter holder.
3.2.3.18. Fit the filter holder in the appliance once
more.
3.2.4. Obtaining steam:
3.2.4.1. The steam wand is used to foam milk for
cappuccinos
3.2.4.2. Turn the appliance on using the on/off
switch.
3.2.4.3. Wait until the pilot light has gone out which
will indicate that the appliance has reached an ad-
equate temperature.
3.2.4.4. Press the steam switch. The unit will con-
tinue heating until the steam temperature has been
reached.
3.2.4.5. The pilot light (9) will illuminate indicating
that the water has reached the necessary temperature
for generating steam.
3.2.4.6. Place a recipient under the steam tube.
