To clean your kettle
Unplug it.
Leave it to cool and then clean with a soft damp sponge.
Certain models are equipped with a bottom surface or a heating
element which is gold-plated to limit scale deposits and facilitate
cleaning.
To clean the filter (depending on model)
The removable filter is made up of fabric which retains the particles of
scale and stops them from falling into your cup when you pour. This
filter does not treat the water or remove the scale from it. It therefore
preserves all the qualities of the water.
With very hard water, the filter becomes clogged with scale very
quickly (10 to 15 uses). It is important to clean it regularly.
If it is wet, rinse it with water, and if it is dry, scrub it gently.
Sometimes the scale does not come away; if so, descaling is
necessary.
Descale regularly, preferably at least once a month and more frequently
if your water is very hard.
To descale your kettle, use:
• white vinegar
- fill the kettle with half a litre of vinegar
- leave to stand for 1 hour without heating
• citric acid:
- boil half a litre of water
- add 25g of citric acid and leave to stand for 15 minutes.
• a specific descaling agent for plastic kettles:
- follow the manufacturer's instructions.
Empty your kettle and rinse it 5 or 6 times.
Repeat if necessary.
To descale your filter (depending on model):
Soak the filter in white vinegar or diluted citric acid.
Rinse thoroughly with water before putting back in the kettle.

GB
• Never immerse the
kettle or its base in
water, as the electrical
connections and the
switch must not be
allowed to come into
contact with water.
• Never use abrasive
cleaning pads.
• Never rub the "gold"
coating as this will
damage its surface.
• Never use descaling
methods other than
those recommended.
