in this way a few seconds after the display is touched the

device turns off automatically (the time can be set as required)
and can be turned on again by simply touching the display
again or taking the device in the hand (by virtue of a move-
ment sensor). If the device is turned off by means of the on/off
key, it can only be turned on again by means of the same key.
To use the touchscreen, lightly press the display with a finger,
without exerting any pressure.
Only in the case of using the virtual graphic keypad, the stylus
supplied may be used for increased precision.
Description of figure 1:
a - on/off key
b - stylus
c - led*
d - transponder sensor
e - microphone
f - USB port
g - contacts for stand-battery charger
h - speaker
1-2-3-4 - (4) immediate keys
* Indicator leds:
- Red led = indicates when the battery charge is low
- Orange led = indicates the charging phase; this illuminates when
MATS1 is inserted on the MATSC1 stand or directly connected to
the battery charger via the USB port
- Green led = indicates the end of the battery charging phase
- Blue led = indicates the delivery of commands to the automa-
tions and control unit (alarm system).

3.1 - Initial start-up

To start up the unit for the first time, proceed as follows:
01. Open the cover (fig. 2): press on point 1 and then push
the base upwards (point 2);
02. Insert memory card "A", if not already fitted;
03. Insert the batteries, taking care to observe polarity;
04. Refit the base.
At this point, MATS1 is ready to control automations. If
required for control of the Mhouse alarm system, proceed as
described in the system instruction manual (chapter 5).
On start-up, the main screen is shown on display (fig. A)
showing three icons to enable access to the relative sub-
menus.
To navigate the menus and sub-menus simply touch the
required icon on screen.
Various screen models and navigation icons are available.
Before proceeding, ensure that you are familiar with these
screens and icons, with reference to the images shown below
(fig. A - B - C - D). Note – Some of the icons present in this
manual are only visible when using MATS1 as an interface for
controlling the Mhouse alarm system.
