Please take a moment to read this instruction sheet to familiarize yourself with the
safe and correct way to use your new locking raised toilet seat.
WARNINGS:
DO NOT assemble or use this equipment without first reading and understanding this
instruction sheet. If you are unable to understand the Warnings, Cautions or Instructions,
contact a healthcare professional, dealer or technical personnel before attempting to
install this equipment. Otherwise, injury or damage may occur.

Certain toilet fixtures will prevent the locking raised toilet seat from working properl and
or will damage the locking raised toilet seat. If the toilet bowl has on its top or inner ring
any raised or protruding points or sections, the locking raised toilet seat should not be
used.
BEFORE each use, ensure that ALL attaching hardware is securely tightened.

Use the arm supports ONLY for assistance. "DO NOT" attempt to use the arms to

support full body weight.

Always check to make sure that the raised toilet seat is properly and securely locked in
place before using. Make certain that the knob that secures the raised toilet seat to the
commode is tight at all times.

Center your weight on the raised toilet seat. The seat may tip if you lean too far forward
to either side, or if equipped by leaning on only one armrest.
Users with limited physical capabilities should be supervised or assisted when using the
raised toilet seat.

The raised toilet seat's weight capacity is: 350 lbs. (159 kg.)

Rotate the adjustment knob by hand only to prevent over-torque of the assembly. Use of
a wrench or other tool will break the screw assembly. DO NOT FORCE knob as this may
damage the knob and/or the raised toilet seat.

The Medline raised toilet seat is not designed for permanent installation. The unit should
be loosened and retightened at least once a week to ensure a proper fit.
If, for any reason, a proper fit in installation cannot be achieved, "DO NOT" use and
contact retailer where purchased for
return instructions.

INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
The Guardian raised toilet seat has been designed to accommodate a wide variety of toilet
bowl types. However, certain bowl types will require the removal of the existing seat and/or
lid to ensure proper fit when installed.
1. Lift the seat and lid of the toilet or remove.
2. Rotate adjustment knob counter-clockwise until the paddle is far enough back to clear the
inner rim of the bowl.
3. Place the raised toilet seat onto the bowl, hooking rear flanges under edge of bowl.
Check that raised seat rests flat on bowl rim. The knob must be at the front end of the
toilet bowl.
4. Center raised seat on bowl rim and push it back as far as possible with your hands.
5. Rotate adjustment knob clockwise to tighten. Turn until resistance is felt, then turn an
additional 1/8" turn until snug.
CAUTION– Rotate the adjustment knob by hand only to prevent over- torque of that
assembly. Use of a wrench or other tool will break the screw assembly.
6. If the top rear of raised seat is hitting the toilet seat or lid, remove the toiletseat and lid
and repeat steps 2 to 5.
WARNING
The Guardian raised toilet seat is not designed for permanent installation. The unit
should be loosened and retightened once a week to ensure a proper fit.
When the raised toilet seat is properly installed, the unit will sit flat on the top of the
lip of the bowl and should fit securely against the inner rim of the bowl.
USER INSTRUCTIONS
After proper installation of the unit, follow these instructions carefully. Failure to comply
can result in severe injury. The Guardian raised toilet seat may be used in the same manner
as a regular toilet seat.
1. Back up to the raised toilet seat until you feel the back of your knees touching it.
2. Reach back for the armrests (model G30270A). Evenly distribute weight between the
armrests. DO NOT fully support yourself with one armrest. Use the arm supports ONLY
for assistance. Weight should be evenly distributed between the armrests.
DO NOT attempt to use the arms to support full body weight.
3. Slowly lower yourself onto the raised toilet seat by bending your elbows and, if
possible, your hips and knees.

4. Reverse Steps 1 through 3 for getting up. Push on the armrests or seat as much
as is comfortably possible. Make sure you have your balance before releasing
your grasp form the raised toilet seat.
CLEANING INSTRUCTIONS
This raised toilet seat can be easily cleaned with regular household cleaning products.
DO NOT use abrasive powders or scouring pads.
