USEFUL INFORMATION

Before getting to work you should first cover up the whole of the paint work of the car
surroundig the engine compartment. The contrast medium which may be contained in
the refrigerant may harm paintwork.
Disconnect the battery before starting work to avoid accidental starting of any
components and subsequent injury.
All required tools and replacement parts should be clean and dry.
Place all necessary tools and replacement parts within easy reach, in order to keep the
system open for as short time as possible. Before opening refrigerant lines, connections
or ports you will need to thoroughly clean the surroundings of oil, dirt and any liquids in
order to prevent any pollution of the system.
All opened lines and connections must be closed as fast as possible to prevent
contaminated air or liquids from getting into the A/C system. Air contained in air
conditioning systems can lead to damages to the system and will degrade the cooling
effect, due to humidity.
O-Rings damaged during the repair must be replaced and coated with compressor oil
before re-assembly. While taking out the O-Rings be careful not to scratch the sealing
surface.
We recommend replacing the dryer collecting bottle if the system has been opened for
more than four hours (but see car manufacturers recommendation), was damaged or
has been out of service for more than two years.
Only remove plugs/caps from new components just before installing in the system.
This will reduce the ingression of air and humidity into the system.
When refilling compressor oil take care that the tools (containers, hoses) are clean and
dry close the oil container immediately after use.
The system needs to be evacuated at least 30 minutes prior to refilling it. This is vital in
order to remove any humidity from the system.
The most important pre requisite for refilling an air conditioning system is to have clean
refrigerant. All pollutants such as humidity, air, dirt etc. have negative effects on the
system pressure and reduce the effectiveness of the air conditioning system.
The system should be checked for any leakage after any repair. If any leaks are
discovered, the system should be evacuated immediately in order to repair it.
