OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
Preliminary checks
After having performed all connections check that:
- the plastic dust bag (28) is in the container;
- that the pressure gauge (5) indicates correct air pressure and there
are no leaks;
- that electrical connections were performed correctly and the line in-
dicator light (Fig. 6C) on the external panel is on;
- that all turbine panels are mounted correctly.
Main switch
Main switch turned on gives power to the machine and to all the elec-
tric sockets
Shutdown turbine
To shut down the turbine, turn the knob (39) to OFF to switch the shut
down the machine and switch off the main switch (Fig. 6D) on the ex-
ternal control panel which also switches off the line indicator (Fig. 6C).
When carrying out maintenance, lock the external control panel in the
off position using a padlock to prevent accidental start-up. The key to
the padlock must be kept by the person responsible for factory safety.
Setting the language of the DISPLAY menu
Press and hold button DISPLAY MENU for at least 5 seconds, after
pressing the main switch (39), to open the Language menu. To brow-
se the available languages, press the DISPLAY MENU button. After se-
lecting the desired language, press button FILTER CLEANING to set it.
To exit from the Language menu, press MANUAL-AUTOMATIC (35) or
power cycle the unit.
Electric tools connection (with vacuum auto start)
- connect the vacuum hose to the inside nozzle
- do not exceed the raccomanded power (2 x 1000W max)
- tools with dust extraction facilities are to be connected to the va-
cuum nozzle in the side hollow trought the hose (on request).
Air tools connection (with vacuum auto start)
- Plug-in the air hose on the inside quick coupling;
- connect the air hose opposite end to the air tool;
- tools with dust extraction facilities are to be connected to the va-
cuum nozzle in the side hollow trought the hose (on request).
Multiporpouse air and electric tools (no vacuum)
Connection for two electric and two air tools with no vacuum facilities
are available on the front panel.
IMPORTANT: Only filtered dry air must be used.
This operation must be carried out by suitably qualified personnel.

MACHINE USE

Turn on the main switch (Fig. 6 D).
Preliminary checks
- Check that the vacuum hose is properly fixed and does not hinder
tool movement;
- Check that there are not leaks from the compressed air supply
system.
Only after having performed connections should you proceed with a
brief operating trial of the tools following their instructions.
Manual mode
In manual mode, the turbine will operate continuously.
To interrupt the continuous operation, press button (35) to pass to
AUTOMATIC mode, or turn the knob (39) to OFF to switch the shut
down the machine.
Automatic mode
In Automatic mode the remote on-off control is activated by electric
or pneumatic tool.
The remote on-off control is active on quick couplings (air tools) and
sokets inside the two side compartment.
The unit automatically set the stand-by mode 30 sec after the air or
electric tools are turned off and is ready for auto-start.
12
Starting (400 V - 50 Hz model)
- Turn the knob (39) to ON to switch the turbine on, LEDS 30-31-32-
33-34 will light-up in sequence. LEDS 32-33-34 will then switch off
automatically;
- LED 31 lights permanently to indicate that the turbine is in AUTO-
MATIC mode, while LED 30 lights permanently to indicate that the
turbine is powered;
- Select the operating mode (MANUAL or AUTOMATIC) by pressing
button (35).
Start-up (version 230 V. - 60 Hz)
- Turn the knob (39) to ON to switch the turbine on, LEDS 30-31-32-
33-34 will light-up in sequence. LEDS 32-33-34 will then switch off
automatically;
- LED 31 lights permanently to indicate that the turbine is in AUTO-
MATIC mode, while LED 30 lights permanently to indicate that the
turbine is powered;
- Select the operating mode (MANUAL or AUTOMATIC) by pressing
button (35).
Checking the direction of rotation of the turbine motor
The pump has a tree-phase motor and is designed to rotate in both
directions: during the installation of the turbine and initial start-up,
check that the air flow matches the direction shown on the adhesive
arrows. Otherwise, reconnect the power cord, inverting two phases.
INDICATORS, SAFETY DEVICES AND ALARMS
All RUPES turbines automatically display the following messages:
Replace filter
The message prompting the user to replace the main filter is displa-
yed every 2,500 hours. To ensure a correct operation of the pump and
prevent potential damage, it is necessary to call the support center
and have the main filter replaced.
Stop due to overtemperature
The pump is fitted with a temperature sensor. If the temperature ex-
ceeds the limit, the turbine stops and message
"HIGH TEMPERATURE"
displays. As soon as the correct temperature value is reached, mes-
sage displays.
"TEMPERATURE OK: power cycle the unit to restart it"
If the problem persists, immediately stop the turbine using the main
switch and contact the support center.
Stop triggered by magnetothermal device.
In case of thermal safety switch on a message will be displaied:
"TURBINE THERMAL ALARM"
Contact the support center for assistance.
Safety valve
Each turbine is fitted with a vacuum-limiting safety valve (20), which is
calibrated to limit the vacuum value and prevent the machine from over-
heating. RUPES Spa shall not be responsible for direct or indirect dama-
ge originating from the tampering with or alteration of the safety valve.
