before using this fan. When using electrical appli-
ances, basic safety precautions should always be fol-
lowed including the following:
1) Use this fan only as described in this manual. Other
uses not recommended may cause fire or electric
shock.
2) This product is intended for household use ONLY
and not for commercial, industrial or outdoor use.
3) To protect against electrical shock, do not place fan
in window, immerse unit, plug, or cord in water, or
spray with liquids.
4) Close supervision is necessary when any appliance
is used near children.
5) Unplug the fan from the outlet when not in use,
when moving fan from one location to another and
before cleaning.
6) Do not operate the fan in the presence of explosive
and/or flammable fumes.
7) Do not place the fan or any parts near an open
flame, cooking or other heating appliance.
8) Do not operate the fan with a damaged cord, plug,
after a malfunction, or if dropped or damaged in any
manner.
9) Avoid contact with moving fan parts.
10) To disconnect, grip the plug and pull it from the
wall outlet. Never yank the cord.
11) The use of attachments is not recommended and
may cause hazards.
12) Always use on a dry level surface.
13) Do not operate if the fan housing is removed or
damaged.
14) This appliance has a polarized plug (one prong is
wider than the other) with a replaceable fuse. To
reduce the risk of electric shock, this plug is intended
to fit in a polarized outlet only one way. If the plug
does not fit fully in the outlet, reverse the plug. If it

Grounded 3-pronG pluG
This appliance has a grounded 3-prong plug as a safety feature, this plug fits in a grounded outlet only one
way. Do not attempt to defeat this safety feature.
eleCTrICAl Cord
The cord of this appliance was selected to reduce the possibility of tangling in or tripping over a longer
cord. If more length is needed, use an extension cord rated no less than 15 amperes. When using an exten-
sion cord, do not let it drape over the working area or dangle where someone could accidentally trip over
it. Handle cord carefully for longer life; avoid jerking or straining it at outlet and appliance connections.

15) This product employs overload protection (fuse).
A blown fuse indicates an overload or short-circuit
situation. If the fuse blows, unplug the product from
the outlet. Replace the fuse (see How To Replace
Fuse for instructions) following the product markings
for proper fuse rating. Check the product. If replace-
ment fuse blows, a short-circuit may be present and
the product should be discarded or returned to an
authorized service facility for examination and/or
repair.
16) Do not run cord under carpeting. Do not cover
cord with throw rugs, runners or similar coverings.
Do not route cord under furniture or appliance.
Arrange cord away from traffic area and where it will
not be tripped over.
POWER CORD SAFETY
TIPS
1. Never pull or yank on the cord or the appli-ance.
2. To insert plug, grasp it firmly and guide it into the
power outlet.
3. To disconnect appliance, grasp plug and remove it
from the power outlet.
