WARNING: No connection is to be

Using an Extension Cable
If an extension cable is required, use an approved
3–core extension cable suitable for the power
input of this tool (see technical data).The minimum
conductor size is 1.5 mm
; the maximum length is

30 m.
When using a cable reel, always unwind the cable
completely.
ASSEMBLY AND ADJUSTMENTS
WARNING: To reduce the risk of
injury, turn unit off and disconnect
machine from power source before
installing and removing accessories,
before adjusting or changing set-
ups or when making repairs. Be sure
the trigger switch is in the OFF position.
An accidental start-up can cause injury.
Replacing and Centring the Sanding
Belt (fi g. 2, 3)
Your belt sander uses 100 x 570 mm sanding belts.
1. Place the tool on its side with the clamping lever
(l) upwards.
2. Pull the clamping lever (l) upwards and to the
right.
3. Remove the sanding belt (e).
4. Place a new sanding belt making sure that the
arrow on the inside of the sanding belt points in
the same direction as the arrow on the machine
when on the same side of the rollers.
5 Push the clamping lever back.
6. Switch the machine ON and turn the outer belt
centring knob (f) until the sanding belt is centred
on the roller (k).
WARNING: The sanding belt should
never project at the rear! The sanding
belt should be flush with the outer edge
of the sanding surface.
Setting the Electronic Speed Control
Dial (fi g. 1)

Turn the speed control dial (b) to the desired
position. The higher the number, the higher the
belt speed.
Dust Extraction
DUSTBAG (FIG. 4)
1. Squeeze the spring (m) of the dustbag (g) and
release it between the fixing rings (n).
2. For efficient dust extraction empty the dustbag
when it is about one third full.
3. Remove the dustbag, open the zipper and
gently shake out the dustbag.
DUST EXTRACTION ADAPTOR
(FIG. 5)
Screw the dust extraction adaptor (h) onto the
outlet (o).
Whenever possible, connect a dust extraction device
designed in accordance with the relevant regulations
regarding dust emission.
WARNING: Do not use a dustbag or
vacuum extractor without proper spark
protection when sanding metal.

• Do not sand magnesium!
• Do not rough sand pure metal
surfaces.
