If the handsets are unable to communicate, it may be because
different channels or sub-channels have been selected, that the
battery is running low, or that the units are too far apart.
Headset
A headset can be connected to the headset socket. Use
the PTT button on the headset cable.
Please note!
Using a headset on high volume can damage your hearing. Adjust
the sound volume carefully when using a headset.
Channel selection
All equipment using this frequency share the available
channels 1–8. If the chosen channel is in use, select
an alternate channel. The selected channel will be
displayed in standby mode.

Press w .
2.
Select the desired channel using v/V.
3.
Press PTT to confirm.
Sub-channels
CTCSS or DCS type sub-channels can be used for
selective calling within the same channel. To enable
communication, the same sub-channel and type must
be used on all handsets. When using DCS, CTCSS will
be deactivated and vice versa. To communicate without
sub-channels, select code 0.
1.
Press w twice to select CTCSS, or 3 times to select
DCS.
2.
Select the desired sub-channel using v/V
(CTCSS 0–38, DCS 0–83).
3.
Press PTT to confirm.
Voice control (VOX)
In VOX mode, transmission is activated by voice or
other sounds without pressing the PTT button. The
handset will continue to transmit for 2 seconds after
you stop talking.
Please note!
Transmission can be inadvertently activated by background noise.
Try the different sensitivity levels until you find a suitable setting.
1.
Press w repeatedly until VOX is displayed.
2.
Select the desired sensitivity using v/V
( =off, 1=least sensitive... 3=most sensitive).
3.
Press PTT to confirm.
Call melody
The transmitted call tone can play 5 different melodies.

Vibrator
A vibrating alert can be used together with or instead
of the call tone.

Monitor function

The monitor function can be used in weak signal areas
to locate any other signal being transmitted on the
active channel.

Press w and V at the same time.

To stop monitoring press w .
Termination (Roger) tone
If activated, a beep tone will be heard when you release
the PTT button. This can be used as a reminder to the
other person that you have finished talking and are
waiting for a response.
1.
Press w repeatedly until

Dual channel monitoring (DCM)
You can listen on a second channel while
communicating on the current operating channel.
1.
Press w repeatedly until DCM is displayed.
2.
Select the desired channel to monitor using v/V
( =off).
3.
Press w once for CTCSS or twice for DCS, and set
the desired subchannel using v/V.
4.
Press PTT to confirm.
Scanning
You can scan all the available channels and sub-
channels to locate transmitting channels.
1.
Press w repeatedly until SC is displayed.
2.
Press v/Vto start scanning the channels.
3.
Press w once/twice to select CTCSS or DCS
modes, then v/V to start scanning sub-
channels.
4.
Press PTT to stop scanning.
