This kit contains: One ALP ambient light panel with one grommet.
Risk of electric shock. Electrical wiring must be done by qualifi ed personnel in accordance with all applicable codes and standards. Turn off power and lock out service panel
before installing, wiring, or servicing this product. This unit must be grounded.
Before installing, remove the protective plastic fi lm and tape from all parts.
If already installed, remove the front panel section (A) from the custom hood base. Take care not to scratch main liner plate when removing front

panel section of liner. (See fi gure 1.)
NOTE: Do not discard the screws, keep them for future use.
Turn off power and lock out service panel before wiring ambient light panel.

• The ambient light panel power cable (not supplied) must be minimum 90°C (194°F) supply conductors.
• When cutting or drilling into wall, do not damage electrical wiring and other hidden utilities.
Run a 2-wire plus ground power cable (not supplied) to ambient light panel location through a hole in the bottom of the custom hood base located

within the grey zone as shown. (See fi gure 2.)
NOTE: If the main liner plate covers the bottom of the custom hood where the power cable will enter, you will need to provide a hole through the
main liner plate as well. To do this, disassemble the main liner plate and insert (with internal blower if applicable) from the custom hood.
Punch or drill a 5/8'' diameter hole through the main liner plate in the location shown (grey zone in fi gure 2). Deburr the sheet metal hole.
Partially reassemble the main liner plate and trace the 5/8'' metal hole onto the bottom of the cabinet with a pencil. Remove the main liner
plate again and drill a 3/4'' diameter minimum hole in the bottom of the custom hood, located on the same centerpoint as the hole in the
main liner plate. Reinstall main liner plate and insert. Insert the plastic grommet (provided) through hole in main liner plate prior to passing
the electrical cable through it. (See fi gure 3.)
Stub out enough length of cable below the custom hood to perform the ambient light panel electrical connection.
NOTE: When drilling hole, protect cooktop and countertop surfaces.
Remove the 4 screws retaining the small plate covering the electrical compartment of the ambient light panel. (See fi gure 4.)

Remove the wiring knockout located on the ambient light panel end and install approved electrical cable clamp (not supplied). Pass the power cable through the cable

clamp and tighten the wire clamp to secure the power cable. (See fi gure 5.)
Connect the power cable to the ambient light panel wires using wire connectors (not supplied) as follows: WHITE to WHITE (B), BLACK to BLACK (C), and GREEN or

bare wire under green ground screw (D) inside the ambient light panel. (See fi gure 6.)
Reinstall the small plate covering the electrical compartment.

Slide the ambient light panel (E) forward into the nose of the custom hood base. Take care not to scratch main liner plate when installing ambient

light panel. Assemble it to the custom hood base, using one screw per screw hole. (See fi gure 7.)
Restore power and test the ON/OFF rocker switch light control.

This ambient light panel requires shielded halogen lamps (120 V, 50 W, MR16 or PAR16 with GU10 base), included.
Do not touch lamps during or soon after operation. Burns may occur. In order to prevent the risk of personal injury, only
install shielded halogen lamps. Also, never install a cool beam, a dichroic lamp, a lamp not suitable for use in recessed
luminaires or identified for use in enclosed fixtures.
1. Install the lamps by placing the bulb leads into their grooves in the socket.
2. Gently push upwards and turn clockwise until secure.
To remove lamps, gently push upwards and turn counterclockwise to disengage bulb leads from their grooves.
NOTE: If need be, use a rubber dishwashing glove to add grip when removing the bulb.
