- Position the plastic guard on the fastener so that it covers it completely.
Diagram 3 (saddle)
- Position the saddle (Part D) on one of the 4 pairs of holes on the frame (Part C). Select the position which is the most
comfortable for your child.
- Insert 2 screws (Screws B) in the holes on the saddle base. The holes have a guide notch and block to ensure the screws
are inserted correctly.
- After inserting the screws through the holes on the frame, insert the parts in the following order: washer D, washer B,
nut B.
- Use the multi-purpose key supplied to tighten the nut as far as possible.
- Repeat this procedure for the second screws.
- Check the saddle is fitted correctly and the screws are tightened sufficiently to guarantee maximum levels of safety.
Diagram 4 (basket)
- Fit the basket (Part F) by slotting the two ends into the fixtures on the back of the frame.
USING THE TRIKE
Chicco's AIR Trike has a saddle that can be adjusted to four different positions using the two screws supplied; simply place
the saddle in the chosen position and screw it tightly onto the frame. This guarantees extra comfort for your child as he
grows.
Double check that the saddle is firmly fastened to the frame every time you make any adjustments to the trike.
The Trike also has an extendable handle (Part G) which can be connected to the back of the Trike so that it can be used in
parent-guided mode as the child learns how to ride it. When using the Trike in parent guided mode, it is important to block
the handlebar using the system fitted on the front fork. Start by moving the handlebar into a perfectly straight position.
Then, to enable the block system, turn the ring on the steering block to the right (Part L) which is located between the
mud-guard and the frame on the front wheel; this will block the movement of the handlebar. Check that it is securely
fastened in place.
Follow the instructions in the reverse order to release the handlebar lock mechanism.
To use the "push ‚n' go" handle (Part G) slot it into the tube behind the saddle. There is a specifically designed hole so that
the handle can be inserted all the way in. It is fastened by a small rod that must be facing downwards into order for it to
click into place (see diagram 5). When it is inserted correctly you will hear it click into place; always double check that it
is securely fitted.
Follow the instructions in the reverse order to remove the extendable handle.
When using the Trike in "push ‚n go" mode, connect the child's safety harness to the three fasteners on the saddle.
It is recommended not to use the safety harness when using the Trike in „free" mode, i.e. when the child pedals on his
own without being pushed. We also recommend removing the harness by unscrewing the screws found at the end of each
buckle.
Using an identical pin hook-on system, the handle rod can be adjusted to three different heights as required. Once again,
when it is inserted correctly you will hear it click into place; always double check by pulling and pushing the handle a few
times.
Chicco's AIR Trike is fitted with a free-wheel system which, when the parent is pushing the Trike using the handle, allows
the child to put his feet on the pedals without them turning with the wheels.
