The two colored rotary magnetic needle
always points to the North. North is marked
on the compass casing.
After North the other cardinal points follow in
a clockwise direction. They are shown on the
disk: East (E), South (S), and West (W). They
are positioned at right angles to each other.
In between each of these are four intermedia-
te cardinal points: Northeast (NE), Southeast
(SE), Southwest (SW), and Northwest (NW).
