Waste disposal and environmental protection

Be environmentally friendly. Return the tool, accessories and packaging to a recycling centre when you
have finished with them. Electrical machines do not belong in domestic waste. Take the equipment to
a waste disposal site. The plastic and metal parts that are used can be separated out into pure grade,
which allows recycling.

BASIC SAFETY RULES

Before working with the equipment, familiarize yourself with all operating components. Practice
handing the equipment and have the function, operation and working methods explained to you
by an experienced user or specialist. Ensure that you can shut off the equipment immediately in an
emergency. Inappropriate use of the device may result in serious injury.
1) The equipment is not to be used by children. Equally, it is prohibited for persons with incomplete
knowledge of the operating instructions to work with the device. Laws and local regulations may
determine a minimum age for use.
2) Allow no-one else to touch the equipment or the extension cord. Keep the equipment away from
people, particularly children, and domestic animals. Interrupt work if people come near. Maintain a
safety distance of 3 m around yourself.
3) Carefully inspect the area to be cut and remove all wires or other foreign bodies.
4) Use suitable working clothes and personal protective equipment! Protective goggles or eye
protection, ear protection, boots or shoes with anti-slip soles and robust, long trousers as well as
working gloves are to be worn as standard.
5) Do not wear long clothing or jewellery, as these may become caught in moving parts. Do not
operate the equipment barefoot or when wearing open sandals.
6) Always guide the equipment with both hands.
7) Before switching on the equipment, ensure that it is in contact with no other objects. Switch off the
equipment before moving to another working area.
8) Do not operate the equipment when tired or after taking alcohol or medication. Always take breaks
in time. Work at a reasonable pace.
9) Do not work in rain, bad weather or in a damp environment. Work only if good lighting is available.
Do not work with equipment that is damaged, incomplete or has been altered without the approval
of the manufacturer.
10) Never use the equipment with defective protective equipment. Before use, check the safety status
of the equipment, particularly the power cable, switch and protective cover.
11) Use the equipment only if all safety devices are in place.
12) Before use, check that the parts of the cutting equipment, e.g. such as knives or blade bolts
are functioning correctly, not sticking and not damaged or severely worn. Work only with cutting
equipment that is intact.
13) Use only spare parts and accessories supplied and recommended by the manufacturer.
14) Do not use the equipment near flammable liquids or gases. In case of non-observance, there is a
risk of fire of explosion.
15) Protect the equipment against humidity. The equipment must not become damp and is not to be
operated in a damp environment.
