Tools Required:
Card for applying abrasive
resistant tape (included)
IMPORTANT: Read all instructions carefully before begin-
ning the installation.
Helpful Hint
A trial fit is recommended to ensure proper positioning,
since installing and then removing the Hood Protector will
be employed.
STEP 1
Open hood and trial fit the Hood Protector centrally on the
hood. Note the slots in the underside of Hood Protector
that correspond to grille areas. Make note of the rubber
bumper locations. Remove Hood Protector. See FIGURE
1.
STEP 2
Remove the grille retaining nuts and clean hood surface at
bumper locations with enclosed alcohol wipe. At noted
locations, trial fit the metal clips on grille by fitting them
over the four grille studs after removing each nut. Note the
center clips have cut-outs to fit around the grille sections.
Remove clips after trial fit. Clean the grille areas (see Fig.
2) with the alcohol wipe provided and remove any residue
with a dry clean cloth. Adhere the Large abrasive resistant
tape. Re-fit brackets and re-install nuts. See FIGURE 2.
STEP 3
Install the Hood Protector and secure it to the brackets with
screws and washers provided in kit. See FIGURE 3.
Note: The slots in the underside of the hood protector
fit over the raised inserts in the brackets.
STEP 4
Attach a small area of the abrasive resistant tape to the
corner of the plastic card in kit. Using this card, slide abra-
sive resistant tape underneath each bumper. Once the
abrasive resistant tape is located under each bumper firmly
press the tape to the hood surface and remove card. See
FIGURE 4.
