PROXIMITY KEYS DECODER
Installation
1 Secure the device using appropriate means.
2 Make the connections as shown in the diagram:
2-wire connection: the reader sends the data through
the power cable (+).
3-wire connection: the reader sends the data through a
cable independent from the power cable.
This mode is recommended when the 2-wire connection
is not reliable, due to external interference (long cable
length or high voltage lines).
3 Insert the memory card in the corresponding decoder
connector.
4 Connect the electrical power supply.
Master keys recording
Master key: key used by the facility administrator to register
new user keys without handling the decoder.
The master key is only used to activate the memory
recording and register new user keys, it cannot be used as
a user key.
The master keys and the user keys are physically the same,
although the decoder interprets their codes in a different
manner. A single key can be indistinctly recorded as a
master key or as a user key.
Any master keys recorded in the memory shall be deleted
when recording new ones.
1 To record the first master key, place DIP2 in "ON" (up).
2 To record the second master key, place DIP1 and DIP2
in "ON" (up).
3 Position the master key to be recorded close to the reader.
If the decoder receives the code correctly, it stores it in
the memory and gives out a recording conformity sound
(two short beeps).
4 Place DIP1 and DIP2 in "OFF".
Before carrying out any maintenance operation, disconnect the device from the power supply.
Problem
The buzzer beeps on and off when the power supply
is connected
The relay is not activated when the key is brought near
the reader
(DL1 off)
The relay is not activated when the key is brought near
the reader (DL1 on, DL2 lights up when the key is
brought near the reader)
The relay is not activated when the key is brought near
the reader (DL1 on, DL2 DOES NOT light up when the key
is brought near the reader)
The relay is enabled but the control panel does not
carry out the order

Installation instructions
User keys recording
Ensure the memory has sufficient space to record new
keys.
Recording using software
1 Place DIP1 in "ON" (up) and DIP2 in "OFF" (down).
2 Position the key to be recorded close to the reader.
If the decoder receives the code correctly, it stores it in
the memory and gives out a recording conformity sound
(two short beeps).
3 Repeat the point"2" with each key to be recorded as a
user key.
4 Place DIP1 and DIP2 in "OFF".
Recording using master key
The master key must have been recorded first.
1 Position the master key close to the reader.
If the decoder receives the code correctly, it enables
the recording of the memory to store new user keys and
gives out a long beep.
2 Position the user key to be recorded close to the reader.
If the decoder receives the code correctly, it stores it in
the memory and gives out a recording conformity beep.
3 Repeat the point"2" with each key to be recorded as a
user key.
Should 10 seconds pass without any recording, the
memory recording mode is disabled and operation mode
is enabled.
Delete master keys
New master keys must be recorded in order to delete master
keys, see "Master keys recording".
Delete user keys
In order to delete the user keys, change the memory for a
new one or delete the memory with the Roller II console.
Failure diagnosis
Cause
The memory card is not in place
Absence of decoder power supply
F1 blown
The key is not recorded in the decoder
memory
Reader or connections defective, or
connections too long
Operation panel connections defective
Solution
Insert the memory card
Establish power supply
Replace F1 using another of the same
value and investigate the cause of the
failure
Record the key
Check the reader and the connections.
If the reader installation is twin wire,
make one with three wires.
Check connections
