NOLAN nCOM intercom 0025
8. BATTERY
8.1. Battery installation
The battery has to be installed in the Basic Kit. Please refer to the specific Basic Kit instructions for your helmet to properly
install the battery.
8.2. Warnings on the use of rechargeable batteries
The device runs on a rechargeable battery. New batteries achieve the highest performances only after being completely
charged and discharged two or three times. The battery can be charged and discharged several times, although it does
deteriorate with use. When continuous talking and pause times are significantly reduced compared to normal, it is time to
replace the battery.
Caution:
Only use the types of batteries, battery chargers and accessories approved by Nolan for your own device model.
- Unplug the battery charger from the mains and from the device when it is not used. Do not leave the battery connected
to the battery charger for long periods of time. Extreme temperatures may affect the recharging capacity of the battery.
- Do not use batteries for purposes that differ from the recommended ones. Never use battery charger or batteries that turn
out to be damaged.
- Do not short-circuit the battery.
- Always keep the battery at a temperature between 10°C and 35°C.
- Do not throw batteries into a fire! Batteries must be disposed of in compliance with local regulations.
Do not throw the batteries out with household waste.
- Only use the battery charger provided with your system. Do not charge the battery using other devices.
- If the system is not going to be used for a long period of time, remove the e-box from the helmet.
8.3. Charging the battery
The battery has to be completely recharged for at least 10 hours before using the N-Com. For optimum battery performance,
it is recommended to always carry out complete recharging cycles for the first charges. Subsequently, the battery can be
recharged for shorter time periods. Whenever possible, it is better to carry out a complete recharging cycle.
1) Connect the battery charger to the mains. The green light on the battery charger turns on.
2) Plug in the battery charger connector into its socket (fig. 11) in the helmet. The red light on the battery charger lights up
to indicate that the connector is plugged in correctly and that recharging is in progress.
3) The light turns green again when recharging is complete. Unplug the connector and disconnect the battery charger from
the mains.
