■
In case the charging process is not stopped in time the liquid in the battery (electrolyte)
starts boiling. When this occurs, immediately interrupt the charging process to avoid the
battery from being damaged.
Parallel charging process of several batteries
Connected in parallel several batteries can be charged simultaneously. Connect the red
clamp to the positive terminal and the black clamp to the negative terminal of the battery.
Batteries in parallel must all have the same voltage. Charging in series is not recommended.
USE IN START MODE
Safety notes
■ Under no circumstances disconnect the battery from the vehicle! Disconnecting may
cause information loss and might prevent another start attempt.
■ The "START ENGINE" mode identifies discharged batteries and in this case denies
starting. The device carries out an automatic desulfation to protect the internal
electronics.

Initial operation

Once the device has been connected in accordance with the instructions to the battery
(see section „Connect and disconnect"), press button 13 "START ENGINE", this activates
a pre-charging.
STARTIUM 680E
Take a seat on the driver's seat of the vehicle. By ignition of the engine you start the starting
process. If the engine fails to start, repeat the procedure after 2 minutes waiting time.
Always wait 2 minutes between each starting attempt. The starting process must only be
max. 5 sec..
Note: If the engine does not start after several ignition attempts, there is either a problem
with a discharged battery (-> recharge) or other failure causes like: (mechanics, electronics,
battery failure,...).
Please follow the instructions in section "Connect and disconnect" after having used the
device.
TESTING OF THE ELECTRIC GENERATOR
The function "Testing of the electric generator" can be selected with button 12.
This function allows the display of the charge capacity of the electric generator through the
alternating display of voltage and percent.
Between 0 and 99% = underload error, the battery is not charged correctly.
At 100 % = correctly working electric generator
Between 101% and 200% = overload error
PROTECTIVE FUNCTIONS
Your device had been equipped with a variety of protective functions:

The thermal protection is provided by a thermostat (cooling in 15 min.). The error LED
lights up with overheating, the display shows "th".
■
The device has a thermal overload protection which switches it off in case of
overheating. Then let the unit cool for 15 min. in a well-ventilated place.
