Operating Modes and
Paper Recognition
Printer Operating Modes
(Page Mode / Line Mode)
The YDP12IS printer can be used in
2 different operating modes:
– "Page Mode" for operation as a label
printer (factory setting)
– "Line Mode" for operation as a strip
printer (for use with continuous paper)
When using automatic paper recog-
nition, the operator can obtain infor-
mation on the current operating mode
by viewing the status message (see
also the section "Activating Paper
Recognition").
The status message is printed and, in
addition to other information (such as
the software version), contains the
message "Line Mode" or "Page Mode"
in the third line.
The normal operating mode for the
YDP12IS printer is "Page Mode." If the
printer does not print, it may currently
be in the "Line Mode."
To switch between the two modes,
use the "FEED" button.
