Operations
Before You Clean
1. Plan activities to give your carpet time to
dry.
2. Move furniture to another area if cleaning
an entire room (optional).
3. Remove loose dirt and impediments.
4. Plan your cleaning route to leave an
exit path. It is best to begin cleaning in the
corner farthest from your exit.
C-1 Filling the 2-in-1 Water Tank
1. Remove the tank from the base of the
machine by lifting the tank carry handle.
2. Carry like a bucket to the sink. Rotate the
handle forward to unlatch the lid. Remove
lid, turn over, and locate built-in measuring
cup.
3. Fill with BISSELL® formula to the indicated
fill line on the built-in measuring cup and
pour into mouth of the bladder.
4. Fill the bladder with clean, warm
(60°C/140°F MAX) tap water. *Do not boil
or microwave water as it can destroy the
bladder.
5. Replace the top lid onto tank by matching
the lid and tank edges. Handle must be in
the forward position in order to replace lid.
Rotate the handle to the carrying position
to latch the lid.
NOTE: Remember to secure the lid and test
to make sure it is secure before picking up
the tank.
6. Place tank into machine base, seating
firmly in place. Rotate tank handle back into
latched position.
ATTENTION
Some Berber carpets have a tendency to fuzz with wear.
Repeated strokes in the same area with an ordinary vacuum
or cleaner may aggravate this condition.
To avoid the risk of injury from the rotating
brush inside unplug before removing.
Take care not to run over loose objects or edges
of area rugs. Stalling the brush may result in
premature belt failure.
C-2 Carpet Cleaning
1. Plug into a proper outlet.
2. Set ReadyTools Dial to FLOOR CLEANING
setting.
3. With your foot, press gray recline pedal
located on back of machine below 2-in-1
water tank.
4. With your foot, press gray recline pedal
located on back of machine next to red
power pedal.
5. While pressing spray trigger, make one
slow forward wet pass and another back.
Caution: Do not overwet.
6. Release spray trigger and make one slow
forward and backward pass over same area.
7. Repeat cleaning passes until solution
being suctioned up appears clean. Continue
passes without pressing spray trigger
until you can't see any more water being
suctioned up. Repeated passes will help aid
in dry time.
NOTE: You may notice hair and debris
deposits on the carpet or in the tank that
were loosened by the cleaning action. This
debris should be picked up and thrown
away.
C-3 Area Rug Cleaning
Important! Please check manufacturer's tag
before cleaning area rugs for any specialized
cleaning instructions. We do not recommend
deep cleaning delicate, silk, wool, antique or
area rugs without a manufacturer's tag.
When cleaning area rugs, place the rug on a
sealed surface and test a small, inconspicuous
area for colourfastness. Your cleaner should
not be used on unsealed surfaces.
Follow carpet cleaning instruction in section
C-2. Keep the foot of the cleaner perpendicu-
lar to the rug's edge with each cleaning pass
to prevent damage.
