• Do not use an extension cord unless absolutely necessary. Use of improper extension cord could
result in a risk of Fire and Electric Shock. If an extension cord must be used, make sure :
a. That Pins on Plug of extension cord are the same Number, Size, and Shape
b. That the extension cord is properly wired and in good Electrical Condition
c. Wire Size of Cord is at least as specified in following chart :

d. If an extension is to be used outdoors it must be marked with the suffix W-A following the
cord type designations. For example: SJTW-A to indicate it is acceptable for outdoor use.
• The Charger (LX-2183) is designed to operate on Standard Household electrical power. Do not
attempt to use it on any other Voltage. Do not attempt to use a step-up Transformer, an Engine
Generator or DC Power Receptacle (for LX-2183)
• Do not operate Charger with damaged Cord or Plug. Have them replaced immediately to avoid
a hazard. Pull the Plug out of the Socket immediately should Smoke or Fire emit from the
Charger. Do not attempt to repair Power Cord or the Charger.
• Do not operate Charger if it has received a Sharp Blow, been dropped, or otherwise Damaged in
any way. Take it to a Qualified serviceman.
• Do not disassemble Charger or Battery Pack. Take it to a Qualified serviceman when service or
repair is required. Incorrect re-assembly may result in risk of electrical shock or fire.
• Unplug Charger from Outlet before attempting any maintenance or cleaning to reduce risk of
Electric Shock. Electric Power of 120 Volts is present at charging Terminals and risk exists of Electric
Shock or Electrocution.
• Charge the Battery Pack in a well ventilated place. Do Not cover the Charger and Battery with
a Cloth, etc., while charging. Do not allow anything to cover or clog the Charger vents.
• Do not charge Battery Pack in Damp or Wet locations.
• Do not incinerate the Battery Pack even if it is severely damaged or is completely worn out.
The Battery Pack can explode in a Fire.
• Do not store the Charger or Battery Packs in locations (such as a Metal Tool Shed, or a Car in
the summer) where the temperature may reach or exceed 122°F (50°C). This could lead to
deterioration of the storage Battery.
• Do not charge Battery Pack when the temperature is below 32°F (0°C) or above 104°F (40°C).
This is very important for efficient operation.
• Do not charge any other Cordless Tool or Battery with Lumax Model LX-2183 Charger.
• Do not short across the terminals of the Battery Pack. Extremely high temperatures could
cause Personal Injury or Fire.
• Always cover the Battery Terminals with the Battery Cover when the Battery Pack is not used.
Do not touch the Terminals with any Conductive Material. Avoid storing Battery Pack in a container
with other metal objects such as nails, coins, etc. A Battery short can cause a large current flow,
overheating, possible burns and even a breakdown.
• Do not attempt to disassemble the Battery Pack or remove any component projecting from
the Battery Terminals. Fire or Injury may result. Never attempt to open Battery Pack for any reason.
If the housing of the Battery Pack cracks or breaks, return to appropriate centers for Recycling.
• The Lumax Battery Pack Model LX-2182 contains Rechargeable Li-ion Batteries. The only way
to dispose of expended Lumax Battery Pack is to recycle it. These batteries must be
collected, recycled or disposed of in an environmentally sound manner. Under various State
and Local Laws, it may be illegal to dispose of this Battery into the municipal waste stream.
Dispose of your Battery Pack according to Federal, State and Local Regulations.
