Hints for correct assessment of temperature
To ensure most accurate reading, it is necessary to consider different factors that can
affect the measurement, and to follow some basic hints.
It's important to know each individual's normal temperature when healthy and not ill; this
is the only way to correctly diagnose fever.
It is advisable to stay inside for at least 30 minutes before assessing body temperature.
Note: this thermometer and the user need to be in the same room with the same
room temperature for at least 10 minutes before reading
It's better not to eat nor drink and to avoid hot baths, showers, etc. before taking the
temperature.
Remove all hair, headbands, hats etc. from forehead at least 10 minutes before taking
the temperature.
Lotions, oils, make up and other cosmetic preparations might affect the reading of the
temperature, which can be lower than actual one. After washing forehead, wait at least
10 minutes before taking the temperature.
