Battery replacement

Zinc-air batteries type 13 should be used. Please note that these batteries are
not rechargeable.
Open the battery compartment by releasing the catch on the 'door', which
allows it to swing outwards. Turn the sound processor over and shake the device
gently or pull the battery out. Place the new battery in the door with the + mark
facing upwards and close the door.
p
WARNING! The Baha sound processor contains small parts that
!
may be a risk for small children. Batteries can be harmful if swal-
lowed. Be sure to always keep your batteries out of reach of small
children or people of diminished mental capacity.
In the event a battery is accidentally swallowed, seek prompt
medical attention at the nearest emergency centre.
Cleaning
You must clean the skin around the abutment daily. Skin debris may build up
around the abutment and it is important that you remove it. Use a soft cleaning
brush, soap and water.
Contact your doctor if you have persistent problems such as soreness,
formation of pus or inflammation around the abutment.
For children who have been fitted with a Baha it is extremely important that
the parent or caregiver of the child inspect and aid in the proper cleaning and
maintenance, as detailed in the information above.
Telephones
To use a telephone with your sound processor, hold the receiver in the normal
way, but close to the microphone inlet of the sound processor instead of close
to your ear. It is important that you do not touch the sound processor since this
may cause feedback ("whistling").
