19. Using and charging the battery
Charging the battery:
• To charge the battery, connect your cigarette lighter charger to your GPS then to the
cigarette lighter outlet in your car.
• The battery charging icon on your GPS' home screen will show the battery status.
Charging is complete once all 3 bars are full and remain full.
• When the battery is full, you can disconnect the cigarette lighter charger from your GPS
and the cigarette lighter outlet in your car.

Important:
• Do not leave the cigarette lighter charger permanently connected to your GPS during use
as this will reduce the battery life of both the GPS and your car.
• Ensure your GPS battery is completely empty before charging it for the first time.
• The charging time of your GPS will vary depending on how it is used when charging. It will
take longer to charge in navigation mode.
Safety information for charging the battery:
• To recharge the battery, use the cigarette lighter charger supplied with your device only.
Do not use any other power supply or electrical device.
• Always wait at least 5 seconds after switching off the device before restarting it. Switching
the device off and then back on again immediately may damage the electrical circuits.
• Do not dismantle, open or shred the battery components. Do not dispose of batteries in fire
or water. Do not charge the battery if the room temperature is above 45°C.Store the
battery in a clean, dry place Avoid leaving the battery in direct sunlight.
• Do not short-circuit the battery. Do not subject the battery to severe or sudden impact.
• In the event of a battery leak, ensure that no liquid comes into contact with the skin or eyes.
If this happens, wash thoroughly with water and consult a doctor.
• The battery life depends largely on how you use it. Do not expose the battery to
temperatures of less than 0°C or greater than 60°C as this may impair its performance. Do
not leave the battery charging for an extended period of time when it is not being used.
• Significant electromagnetic interference or electrostatic discharge may cause malfunction
or loss of data. If the device is not functioning correctly, reset it.
