17. REPAIRING FAULTS
FAULT INDICATORS ON THE CONTROL BOX
The method is simple. When a fault occurs, count the number of flashing bars of light on the con-
trol box to determine the nature of the fault.
The following is a summary of the fault indicators. Try to consult this summary first before contac-
ting your dealer. Find the number in the summary that corresponds to the number of flashing bars
of light on the control box and follow the instructions.
1. Flashing bar of light:
The batteries need to be charged, or there is a bad connection between the batteries and the
electronics. Try to charge the batteries. If this has no effect, consult your dealer.
2. Flashing bars of light:
The left-hand motor has no connection, or a poor connection.
Consult your dealer.
3. Flashing bars of light:
The left-hand motor has a short circuit. Consult your dealer.
4. Flashing bars of light:
The right-hand motor has no connection, or a poor connection.
Consult your dealer.
5. Flashing bars of light:
The right-hand motor has a short circuit. Consult your dealer.
6. Flashing bars of light:
The control system prevents you driving while the battery charger is connected. Disconnect
the battery charger from the wheelchair.
7. Flashing bars of light:
This indicates that the joystick is in an incorrect position. Ensure that the joystick is in the neu
tral position before turning on the wheelchair.
8. Flashing bars of light:
This error is related to the relay frame. Consult your dealer.
9. Flashing bars of light:
The function that gives this error is not engaged. This error cannot occur.
10. Flashing bars of light:
The electronics have been exposed to excess voltage. This is usually the result of poor batter
connection. Consult your dealer.
If the problem continues to exist after following the above steps, then consult your dealer.
